Indiana St at George Mason (#5 MVC vs. #4 CAA)
Wright St at Bradley (#3 Horizon at #6 MVC)

Thanks TAS - nice work. I'll start looking at conference standings in another week or so (just so darn early). ;)

I said earlier and so agree with you now - I think Wright St looks to be a good fit for Bradley.

Also - couple problems with your projections:
1) Pacific and Nevada have already played this season
2) Utah St and Long Beach St have already played this season.

(teams can not have rematches from earlier contests in the season)

Well.....crap. How about moving Wichita into Nevada's spot, Nevada down to play VCU, and move La Tech into Wichita's old spot.

My 3 are: Wright St, Niagara, and Drexel. 3 different conferences to choose from there. Of course, we all know what will actually happen.

And that's why my colored coded options include Valpo, UIC, SEMO, and even SIUe. Heck - we might be willing to put Lennox on the schedule for a home-n-home anyway... this way, we'll get MVC officials on the road next year. ;)

I get your point about Wright St and maybe throwing in an Ohio State, Louisville, or WVU on the road swing. . .but it's been too long since we've played either St. John's or MSG. . .how about that to go with Niagara as a road swing?

If we can find a Big East school to agree to a one-and-done (or maybe even a 2-1), we oughta do that.

Les does need some new power conference teams on the schedule...

Well - that's why I said earlier about Wright St. Being in the Dayton area, you could pick up Dayton, Miami (Oh), Xavier or Cincinnati. Heck, why not swing back through Bloomington, IN and take on the Hoosiers? :D

I'm not sure if it's solely based on RPI, but I'd like to see these pairings:

Siena @ Butler
Old Dominion @ UNI
Wichita St. @ VCU
Nevada @ Missouri St.
Akron @ Bradley

Will we be willing to do a one and done on said road trip? I would. Maybe talk Dayton or Xavier into a 1-1, or even a 2-1 isn't that bad. (I doubt Cincy wants to bother with us given they once had ISU, IIRC)

Don't forget that this year's Bracket Buster game will not have a return game next year but instead will happen the year after that.

This also means JL will have another game to schedule for next year that he normally would not have to find. Hopefully, he takes TAS's advice and avoids the SWAC like the plague.

Actually would be good to get a team that looks promising for next year too, so we can get another good non-conf. road test...oh yeah, that didn't work out too well for us this season.

I didn't forget - just didn't know!
I guess it won't matter too much if we play a good team this year that might be good next year too.

It's not solely on RPI - but the top matchups do rely on the RPI as well as Conference Standings.

The intent of the BracketBusters event is to showcase some teams likely to make it into the NCAA field and then potentially Bust the Bracket of 65.

The lower RPI teams not leading (or near the top of) their conferences will be matched up more on a regional basis - though not always.

NOTE (mainly for Squirrel): Teams can not play another team from their same conference. Teams can not replay an earlier season matchup.

Here's some projected match-ups (just for fun).

UNI vs ODU
Butler vs Siena
Kent vs Wm & Mary
Utah St vs Wichita St
VCU vs Buffalo
NE'rn vs La Tech
Murray St vs W Carolina
Iona vs College of Charleston
Missouri St vs Nevada
Pacific vs ORU
E Ky vs W Michigan
Ohio vs Indiana St
Radford vs Morgan St
ISU vs Long Beach St
Vermont vs S Carolina St

We fall into a game against maybe Fairfield, NM St (Bobby Parker could give the team a tour of the town ;)), Wright St, Morehead St, Drexel, UCSB, or Akron... unless we want Valpo, SEMO, UIC or SIUe.
