Cuonzo vs Les

This game was not won because of superior game coaching.
They played better, made their shots, and rebounded better.

Agreed... IN-GAME coaching did little with today's outcome.

However, the PREGAME coaching for BU was not there. Did we have any defense out there today?

See...when people start deciding that they have better ways to spend their time...well...then the program is really in trouble. People whine about those who complain and those who boo. Well, hate isn't the opposite of love, apathy is. And when that sets in, you can call it a day. Sounds like SFP is getting there...will miss you brother!

Great post! (Or are you not a real fan? :-D)

Yet with how maddening this team is, watch them play UNI really close ... not expecting it, but it surely wouldn't surprise me either.

Sorry, I don't feel any need to answer to you when Bradley loses a game. You are just as qualified to figure this out as I am.
Here is a question that has always baffled me- why do the most ardent complainers here always direct their anger at posters who don't see things as negatively and as hopeless as they do?
Why are you mad at me because I am not as miserable as you?

DC, c'mon man! He's not mad at you at all...he's asking you to simply defend your viewpoint and offer your opinion of what Les is accountable for. You mentioned earlier that they shot and rebounded better, ans as a result, they won. They played well as a team and were balanced throughout. Isn't this a reflection of their coach? Isn't he accountable for the results on the floor? It really is a simple question, not a personal attack! We lost a to a completely revamped team picked 9th by almost everyone. If Cuonzo isn't coach of the year, who is? Can't we hold Les to the same standard in his 8th season? Cuonzo is in YEAR 2!!!!!

We have seen this before with JL BU teams. Based on history, BU will end up winning a couple games they shouldn't, and lose some games they shouldn't, and rally for a 9-9 or 10-8 MVC season and win their Bracketbuster.

This team has too much apparent talent, and few upper class players, to mail it in for the rest of this season. Most of the team is coming back next year and should have motivation to play for starting roles for next year.

If the team goal for this season is just winning, lets hope they figure our a way to get back on track this year. I have no problem with giving JL one last chance next year to prove all us nay sayers wrong when 11 of his 13 players return and JW (and a top rate asst coach) join the Braves.

One thought keeps nagging me though, an old saying...you can have the best coaching, the best facilities, the best fans, and the best system, but if you don't have the horses it doesn't matter. I really hope BU players are capable of playing better than we are seeing now.

IMO JIm has lost this team. PERIOD. They are getting worse game by game.

It's hard to say if JL has lost them. I think guys think they're trying, but just don't know any better when it comes to how to defend, how to rebound, and how to execute. I'm not at practice or in pre-game prep, but that's where I think we're probably getting beat the worst. Questionable use of timeouts and substitutions probably aren't helping matters, but those things are only magnified by the real issues with this team.

FWIW, playing hard for a guy doesn't mean much to me as far as how good of a coach a guy is. That's usually what you say abuot a team when there is nothing else good to say. Guys should play hard no matter what.

You do realize now that you and T can no longer use the sweet 16 to the credit of JL since you said that. If the loses can't be blamed on the coaches then the wins can't either.

A loss here or there can be clearly identified as a team just not executing or what not, but entire seasons, with the talent that we have, going entirely haywire and seemingly out of anyone hands lands squarely and firmly on the coaches.

DC I agree with you 100%. It was not decided by game coaching. It was decided in the off season. Counzo was 3-15 last year and he assembled the players that made the difference tonight.

Offseason work, practices, and pre-game prep were the difference. I agree, not much that took place coaching-wise during the game made the difference. Unfortunately, the responsibility still falls on the same people.

I agree and something more to go along with this is that Counzo played 7 new players! So to those who sang the song about our players being around but not up till this year have played togather, please stop that BS:!::roll:

I agree Da_Coach! but we also need to add that they wanted it a lot more then our guys. We lacked a defensive intensity that I'm not sure at this level if it can be taught. You either have it or you do not. You have to want to and enjoy stopping guys (MJ just loved to stop someone and embarass them playing D as much as on O). Besides DSE and WE I did not see that in any of the players. I saw where our guys were jogging back on D, never ever good. You need to sprint back. If you get winded then put your hand up and come out. It seems like they want to rest themselves for O.

I'd have to believe DSE will be a starter next game! Prediction SM, DSE, AW, TB, WE.

OK I will be off the board for a bit. I've spent wat to much time lately. I'll be checking for the occasional PM but I am not going to get myself worked up by what others have to say about the program one way or the other. I have zero control and I'd bet neither does anyone else on this board. So good bye, good night and go BU!

Come on Man:roll: Stay with us:!: Your 2 cents count as much as the rest of us:lol:

Great points BB....I think these guys are at a lost as to what to do. I simply do not see any improvement right now.

Excellent post AZ! My thoughts exactly.
