Nebraska at Creighton

I listened to the last few mins of the game on Lawson was huge for them... i think he had 28 pts and 10 boards... i know they said it was his career high in pts... (not sure if it was 26 or 28) and his first career double double... nice win by the jays...

Great win for Creighton and the Valley. Maybe Nebraska will be a mid-level team in the Big 12 again, but still this was a game Creighton desparately needed.

Despite the loss to Michigan, Creighton now becomes the fifth team in the Valley to beat a BCS team this year! Of course Bradley has the only win versus a ranked BCS team (Creighton should have had the other one), but to see our teams doing well against the BCS (as bad as a couple of these BCS teams might be) should help garner some attention toward the Valley come tournament time.

Thanks to Kenny Lawsons 25pts. 11-12 from the Line. Jays shot 81% from the line.26-32.Creighton 1-10 from 3. Witter 13pts, only other "J" in Double figures.

CU had better get somebody else going come MVC play. So far it's only been the Kenny Lawson show. Valley teams will strategize to shut him down and CU will be toast.

This was Kenny Lawson's first ever double double - surprising given his averages..
and his 25 pts & 10 rebounds are both new career highs.
One glaring stat.....regards the fouls..
Creighton was 26-32 at the FT line, while Nebraska was just 9-14, and CU was just 1-10 from 3-pt range..
Looks like the refs helped out...
This brings their season average on 3-pt shooting to just 32.7%, barely ahead of the worst team in the Valley (ISU surprisingly is at just 32.4%)

BTW-- here's a column from Omama claiming that Creighton's early season struggles are all because they lost Josh Dotzler

or if it's not that, then it's all the bad injuries..(even tho none of the key players has a broken arm)
