NO prizes...sorry. :)

The Answer is......Western Illinois......the Question is_________________?

After a few guesses I'll give some clues IF out astute posters don't get it first.

Who is the team Bradley lost to on the road following it's victory over Michigan in 1997? WIU 56, BU 50.

Interestingly, Bradley also played WIU the next time (and last previous to Illinois) it defeated a Big Ten team, Penn State in 1998. This time Bradley won the game at Carver Arena comfortably. BU 81, WIU 46.

Got it.......good job. I actually went to that debacle.

And for an extra 300 points who did UM play, and beat, following the loss to BU.

#1 Duke.

I think we shot like 20% in the WIU game.

That particular WIU game was also after the 13 day finals layoff.

Yes...we beat UM...UM beat #1 Duke.....WIU beat us making WIU the best team in the counrty. :)

I DID forget that the game was after a layoff. I'm glad we are playing NIU so much sooner following the Illini game.

All I remember from the UM game was an unbelievable tip dunk by Eric Robeson off a missed shot. I think he was close to having his whole head above the rim when he first touched the ball & then rammed it home on the way down.

Who was one of the officials for the WIU-BU game in Macomb?
clue: he called an offensive goal tending on E.Roberson from way back at the WIU freethrow lane.

I've never forgotten that slam. I think it's still the greatest dunk by a BU player I've ever witnessed. Over his career, Eric also had several spectacular blocks from behind, trailing players who THOUGHT they had uncontested bunnies.

The greatest slam by a BU player was at ISU when Donald Powel took a half court pass and in one motion took the ball while in the air and reversed dunked the ball. It was in his sophomore year before he got hurt and was on his way to being likely one of if not the best big man BU had ever had.

BTW that game at WIU was right there with a home loss I believe that season to Evansville as two of the worst games I have ever seen Bradley play. And the upper level of pull out bleachers at WIU not only were high school level but I recall that there were quite a few obstructed views. Actually Texas Arlington loss at home was real bad also.

Hue Hollins is the infamous NBA ref who blew the call on Scottie Pippen in the payoffs against the Knicks, killing the Bulls' chance of a four-peat...
I just thought it would be funny to reminisce...

Here's a story about that foul call...can you believe it is already 15 years later!!
(although the guy who writes this column is an absolute dimwit...as the Knicks were NOT "the 1994 NBA Champions.")
