Creighton and Michigan

The Blue Jays let Michigan back in giving up a 7-0 run to give the Wolverines the lead back in the final minute, and had to drive for a lay-up to send it to overtime.

Yes. That won't look too good when the supposed Valley favorite loses to a middle-of-the-pack Big-10 team. :(

Not trying to argue with ya here but Michigan is ranked #15 and picked to finish 4th in a very competitive Big Ten this year... And CU isn't the supposed Valley favorite either- UNI is. So its Big Ten #4 vs. MVC #2- this is far from a bad loss and IMO, by the end of the year, would have been a GREAT win, had them upset the Maize N Blue...

It's not a bad loss, but it is VERY disappointing the Valley could not get this win. I understand this was a road game, BUT if the Valley and other non-BCS conferences expect to get multiple bids into the NCAA Tournament year in and year out, those are games we HAVE to win. And according to Altman, they had their chances and blew it with missed easy open shots and too many turnovers, especially toward the end.

I for one am not happy with that result at all! :(

Thanks Nacho. I thought of that too after I posted. I guess I just think Michigan is a little over rated and will probably finish lower than 4th this year. Plus, I've never really had the respect for UNI that others have; I still consider CU the favorite this year.

Yeah, the only thing to lessen my disappointment of the result of this game is to hope that Michigan tanks and Creighton gets tagged with a bad loss. Had they won and Michigan finishes at or below .500 in the Big Ten, then Creighton would not get credited with a "great" win anyway.

Just trying to spin things a bit in wake of bad loss for the Valley! :D

"P" saw the bright lights and marquee players and tried to be a star...... He failed!

Yeah, he's becoming a cancer in their clubhouse. That's what happens when programs become great and the "blue chip" recruits start choosing these type of schools. Then it's inevitable that they will get some players high on raw talent but low on discipline.

Having said that, we ought to be able to at least split the two games against Creighton this year!

Major choke by Creighton, who had total control of the game with under 5 to play. P'Allen Stinnett absolutely killed them today. Creighton will be a better program when he's gone. Another blow to the MVC's chances for multiple bids.

You could not have said that any better. This is a game the Creighton of three or four years ago would have won relatively easily.

CU and Dana will walk the Valley this year

Those who watched the game will definitely agree. He took some bad shots, try to drive when there was no space, and just didn't do well as a "clutch" performer.

That's why I'd rather have Sammy :)
