Way to Go DSE

For all the naysayers who wondered whether DSE was good enough to play at BU...this one's for you!! ;)

I know there's a lot of reasons why BU won tonight...DSE is definitely one of the biggest!! He played a terrific floor game, and shot the ball very well.

At halftime, I told a friend that DSE should be playing more, because I thought the team played well when he was on the floor. I realize he will get more PT now because of Dodie's injury, but I thought he was earning it the old fashioned way tonight.

Well done DSE!! :)

OB......DSE deserves his own thread on this game....he is smooth and shows no sign of being a freshman and the stuff that goes with that...just a solid solid game on both ends of the floor.....

Coach Brown has got to be proud! Along with all Washington fans....

DSE is the real deal. Bummer about Dunson but DSE will help pick up the slack. BU fans are gonna love this kid!

Followed his career at WCHS for two years...good player and an even better person! I am definitely a proud Panther fan tonight!! :)

He is the best point guard on this team , when he entered the game tonight we were 4 points behind and when he came out I think we had a 9 point lead, I still don"t know why Jim chose to substitute 3 guys at that time and break our nice run. Jim chose to keep him in the game the last 6 minutes which should tell us how much he trusts him to make plays in the guts of the game.
This is not a Knock on Eddren but a compliment to DSE in that he is the best point guard I have seen at BU in a long time, his size and length is what I like to see in a point guard plus he has shown that he can knock down the 3, shoot and make freethrows, finish his drives above the rim, handle the ball well and make good passes plus I thought his overall defense was great.

He took Andrew Warren out at that time 9just after he made a couple baskets to stretch the lead) because he had 4 fouls, and there was about 8 minutes left in the game. I think it was the right move to make. And he subbed him in and out down the stretch to keep him from playing defense and picking up his 5th foul.

The substituion of 3 players happened in the 1st half, I know Warren was being taken out on defense so he would"t committ his 5th foul.

Real Fan I have to agree that DSE is the best PG on the team. This was the first time I've seen a BU guard try to hit the big on the roll after a high screen. The pass was great but was unexpected and turned out to be a turnover. He is so smooth with the ball. He definitely is able to get to the rim and finish which I think EM has problems with at times.

Oops, sorry. I am trying to get caught up reading everything since I was away from the board for several hours. I thought you meant the substitutions in the 2nd half.

I should have said 1st half to begin with.
I have seen a lot of basketball games over the years and DSE has really impressed me the last few games, he does not play like a freshman and I am sure happy that he decided to play for BU, I think we probably got the best overall player from Washington and IU got the 2nd.

Real fan, you've read my mind on a couple of posts this week...

I agree with you their. Several times tonight I saw Egolf clap his hands that he was open just after taking the ball up the court, but each time either SM or EM just passed the ball around the perimeter and didn't look down to Egolf. The lanes wasn't clogged either, a simply bounce pass would of been sufficient to get Egolf the ball.

I know DSE had a good game. Kudos to him for helping the Braves win the game. I believe DSE has the desire, drive, and determination to be a good/great MVC player. It also helps that he played under a coach that prepared him for the next level after high school.

However, Bradley just played IDAHO STATE!!! Not by ne means suppose to be a tough opponent. I think Bradley Overall looked bad. They got absolutely manhandled on the glass it seemed like. How many MVC teams only beat this team by 5pts.... They were 13-19 last season and 2-14 on the road.. This is not a good team...

Im glad Bradley pulled it out, but I am by no means impressed by how anyone played. I feel like Bradley actually got out played. I know its early in the season but the MVC Teams are going to be alot tougher than IDAHO STATE trust me...

Amen to him hitting the guy on the pick and roll. Once he threw it to Egolf and he was fouled, the other he threw to Sam Singh, except sing quit rolling, should have been a lay-up.

Not once did our other guards look for the bigs tonight, save for the Pick and Slip to Sam Singh which resulted in him getting the shot blocked. DSE is really a solid player, he understands how to draw the defense, hit the cutter, attack the rim, and played solid Defense. He was outstanding in his home debut. Great Job DSE.

Hopefully, we're able to keep our best rebounder on the floor once he rejoins the team next Sunday! I'm not terribly worried about the rebounding at this point.

DSE....I honestly couldn't see why some people were so high on him after the BYU game. I never saw him in high school, but have heard people in the past say how we were getting the better of the D-1 players from WCHS. Needless to say, DSE made me believe after watching him in person for the first time! :)

that's why I wouldn't put DSE in the starting lineup just yet. He played great against ISU and doesn't play so great agianst BYU....this is how it is with most freshman........this is how it is with many players...DD played great this game too and not so good at BYU......we need to work on those team things like defense and rebounding....things that the BU team needs and can bring to the court every game.....I doubt we shoot 50% from three every game

DSE was awesome last night. Not ready (and it wouldn't be fair) to anoint him a starting role just yet. As good as he was, he is still a freshman and could have some rough games ahead of him. That being said he looked about 1% frosh last night with great aggressive play, good defense, and good passing. The one turnover I remember him making was the previously mentioned entry pass that Singh gave up on.
