Will Egolf is recovering well and is ahead of schedule with his rehab for his knee injury. He has been cleared by doctors to play in the games in Brazil that begin this weekend. Great news for Will and the team!
Andrew Warren is also recovering well, but is not cleared to play yet. He will go with the team, but will not play in the games. He will be cleared for full activity in September.--

The fact that there's no 'new' news on AW other than he's healing on schedule I think is a good thing. Since the additional procedure occurred, I don't think he was every realistically scheduled to play in Brazil. Even if he was cleared, I don't think I would want him to play based on his injury history.

The best thing we can do with A.Warren is allow him to not put any stress this summer on his foot , The added time off should help him get fully healed.
Will getting cleared to play is very good news as playing against different competition should help in him being ready to go 100% by the start of the season.

Wouldn't no stress on the foot mean it gets weaker? (like long term astronauts that loose bone density)
Although I agree that we should want AW to excersize his foot as much as prudent in a structured environment where hits from opposing players are less likely..

I'm going to bet that he is doing everything he can to be ready for the start of the season. I also was just wondering what type of conditioning activities besides lifting weights AW is doing?:doubt:

You make a good point here ph! Hell after any surgery, any more they have your butt up and going but I'm not close to what AW is or is not doing. Also I am no doctor! Thank God! I do how ever share the concerns of others about the recovery and return of this young man! After all its now been while over a year from when the injury first occurred and there has been a lease one set back! A foot injury is a hard injury to get healed, I know from my wifes injuries. All we can go on for now is what DC said and hope he is right!
Great news for WE! Hoping for the best for both these young men:!::biggrin:

"Bradley will have a playing roster of just its nine returning players, including walk-on Ryan Phillips,
for the five games against Brazilian professional teams. The incoming BU freshmen aren’t eligible to play in summer competition with the team."

so isn't anyone the least bit curious......Goertzen, Robertson??

Do the walk-ons have to pay their own way?

Also, I always thought the purpose of allowing these trips every four years was to allow all the players to make one trip before they graduate if the school decides to do so. Why would one class not be allowed to make these trips?

Is this a new rule? I know for a fact that when Creighton had a preseason trip to Canada a few years ago, the incoming frosh were able to play and did play.

Creighton went over Labor Day--once school had started. Teams can no longer take those trips. If it is before the season then newcomers cant go.

Guys.....AW is in VERY good hands. BU has access to some of the best orthopedic surgeons you would want. Don't know for sure but I imagine he's spending time in the pool......bike and othe non-weight bearing activities.

Only question I have is his foot attire....is he in a walking boot or regular shoes?

He's been seen in normal footwear for a while. And he has reportedly been cleared to shoot and workout, but not fully cleared to scrimmage, yet.

If anyone has more info, let us know.

That's my concern as well. He was supposedly healing well and should be ready for the games in Florida last year, then a few days later it was decided he wouldn't play. Then it might take several weeks until he's ready to play and then it was sometime in January. Just seems it keeps getting pushed back and still is. I can't wait to see AW back on the court!
