Wow... feel like I got punched in the stomach.

Ironically, our biggest offensive threat last night (Collins) spent too much time on the bench hampered with fouls.

Also, Singh needs to put the mask back on. He was good with it. He has been terrible without it.

playing not to lose is the problem. Up by 8 with 3 minutes to go is not enough of a cushion to try to take the air out of the ball... playing the basketball equivalent of the "prevent defense" is what lost us the game.

It just gets so hard to take. I guess we'll see how the rest of the season plays out but I can't handle being in the 4-5 game anymore. Jim Les has been the definition of mediocre. How long until he stops getting a free pass?

Here we go again... the Fire Jim Les crowd coming out of the woodwork.

Throw in the towel on the 08-09 season. On paper we should be the league favorite next year though.

We will not be the league favorite on paper heading into next year. Not a chance.
UNI returns everyone and they are lapping the field this year...they will be picked ahead of us next year...
Creighton loses Woodfox and Dotzler, but returns 4 of their top 5 scorers (Stinnett, Witter, Carter, and Lawson)...so they will be picked ahead of us...without a doubt.
ISU loses Oguchi and Holloway, but they still return Eldridge, Phillips, and Odiakosa. This is a tougher call, but it would not surprise me and I don't know that I could really put up much of an argument if they were picked ahead of us next year...I would expect that they will...

We get Warren back which will be a huge boost, but we lose Theron and don't have a real clear picture of what to expect from any of our big guys next year (Egolf coming off major surgery, Thompson getting no playing time this year, and Prosser as a freshman big...)...so on paper, I would guess that we will be picked 4th in the Valley to start the year next year (behind UNI, Creighton, and ISU)...but we will have a real chance to do much, much better if Egolf and Warren return at close to 100% and the freshmen from this year (McCain, Norris, and Brown) all take nice steps forward in their progress...

The future is bright for BU, but not "preseason conference favorite" bright quite yet...

After that final, winning dagger of a 3 went down, I started laughing, then I started cursing. I pretty much repeated that sequence the rest of the night until I went to bed. I'm just glad it didn't resume upon waking up this morning.

Bob Knight is available

I DONT think Jim Les should be fired but hypotheticly speaking if we had a coaching vancancy I would be very happy to fill it with Bob Knight. First he has 900 wins and even if you hate him, their no denying his record and that he is one of the best coaches of all time. Second it would bring almost daily national attention to BU not just basketball but the entire campus and community would get more attention. I understand thier would be some risk in taking a coach like Knight but if we had a vancancy right now I would take him in a second and every fan I know would too.

When #5 came in with two points and made his first 3 pointer at around 3 or 4 minutes left. I called it to my friends. I said they are ONLY going to take 3's the rest of the game and we're probably going to lose because we'll try to run down the shot clock and not score anymore points. That last 3 was just icing on the cake...I just went numb

I stared at the court in an alcohol induced depression until my girlfriend basically pushed me over and told me we had to leave....

I was the exact opposite I stared as well...didn't even look at our last desperation shot. I was looking at nothing and once I heard the horn I took off. I couldn't be in that arena any second longer then I had to be haha. I needed out before I screamed at everyone. I was walking but I felt like I was floating haha:lol:

Great, another year in a losers tournament.

In my view, anything other than the NCAA tournament is a losers tournament. That being said, the CBI is more fun and although the quality of teams may be lesser than the NIT, the games(at least last year) were far more entertaining to watch. If we don't win the tourney in St Lou, I'm more than happy accepting CBI or even the new CTI if it means more home games and expereince for our players. The NIT does nothing for me in terms of "showing improvement" as some have stated in this thread. It's still another Not Invited Tournament, so who cares which not invited one you go to.
