Bill Cole

bill cole wouldnt be bad to have sit on BUs bench if he didnt play here. Hes better than other Peoria players on the bench. so y not bring him in if he wants to come. He may help a little with size and shooting against some MVC teams. but who knows. lets try him out.

My money is that he stays at UIUC... in the big picture, he is getting a free education at UIUC--and seriously--it makes NO sense to transfer here to ride more bench:roll: Only way he leaves, is if he is virtually guaranteed significant playing time--and I don't see that happening unless he goes to someplace like Eastern, Western, etc...and makes an academic step down;)

You may be right, but from everything I have ever heard from and about kids at D1 schools is that the #1 thing for them is that they want to play. Or at least they want to believe there is a chance for them to play.

That is what accounts for 95% of all D1 transfers. Does anyone know of a player anywhere with legitimate mid to high D1 talent who was happy to ride the bench for all 4 years? I am not saying that doesn't ever happen, but it is extremely rare.

Legion is a perfect example of a kid sitting out for a long period of time and being expected to contribute way too much immediately , he will be a much better player next season if given the chance.

Don't you like Bill?
He is a very fine player and a fine person, and Bradley would be very lucky to have him.

Ive never met Bill Cole so I can't speak to him as a person. To say I don't "like" him would be incorrect.

From a basketball perspective I don't want Bradley to give Bill Cole a scholarship. If he wants to come to Bradley and walk-on, that's fine by me.

I strongly agree. A 6'9 kid with a nice shot would be a huge mismatch in the Valley. He wouldn't be the end all/be all but he would make a nice "4" for Bradley.

Would you offer him a scholarship? If he's such a good player I dont see why he NEVER plays at Illinois. Not even 10 minutes a game. I doubt he would be much of a difference maker for Bradley.

He would certainly fit in with our other post players who aren't difference makers

I do not know what other players are being recruited....but right now if BC wants to be a Brave....I say let it happen!

i taked to bill and told him that if he wants to come back and be brave we would love him too...

he laughed and said hed keep us in mind ;-)

Bill Cole seems like a good person and a fine basketball player and if we had the chance to get him I probably would unless we have some other great big JUCO in the wings right now. You never have enough quality players on your roster that are fighting for a strating position. Chances are that BC is not going anywhere and I bet by the time he is a senior he will be an impact player. Guys that are athletic, 6'8", can shoot and have a great attitude usually mature into a leadership role and can suprise a few people.
