Another stunner in East Lansing!

Once again, Michigan St trips up on their home court as they lose to Penn St 72-68! Penn St is now just a game out of first behind Michigan St and Purdue.

I wonder if the Big Ten will get "shafted" out of some NCAA bids due to the parity in their league.

Naah. It will never happen!

Shafted! No! They may get less schools in the dance probably and those bids will go to the Big East and ACC instead. You will not see a reduction of BCS schools in the dance! Big Ten has 4 locks in the dance and we'll see if they can squeeze in 2-3 others. SEC is also having an off year and do you think those extra bids will go to mid-majors? Yea right!

Go LIONS!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I think that the Big Ten is not a good league this year. If teams like Northwestern are competitive in the league (look at their team, wow, pretty average) then it does not say much for the league. I believe that the Big ten should only get maybe 4 teams in the tourny, but because people ALWAYS overhype the conference, they probably get 5/6 teams in somehow which is a shame to Missouri Valley schools like ISU and others that should get at large bids over the lousy big ten.

The ones that will get in are: MSU, PU, PSU, Illinois, OSU, Minnesota,

Michigan will compete with Minnesota for that last spot most likely.

I am just disappointed that this conference will take bids away from Missouri Valley teams and others like VCU who has a good team, and even possibly a SEC team like Kentucky (who would get first in this conference for sure).

THe big ten is always overrated and does not deserve many teams in the tourny. Big ten has been down since Illini run to championship.

Welcome to the boards heybballfans!

Wait a minute, you think the Big Ten is overrated this year? The ESPN "eye test" says otherwise! ;)

I just hope we dont see a team like Northwestern get in the tourny. They are sooooooooo boring and not that good, but they play that style where they lull opponents that are so much more supremely talented to sleep.

I do take back the # to make it though, after rethinking, I think the Big Ten should get 5 teams for sure with the 6th most likely to make it.

MSU, Illinois,Purdue, Penn St.,Minnesota, Ohio St

with Michigan with chance if they get a good finish to season, and even Wisconsin who has potential to turn their season around since they are tough at home and can pull some upsets.

And please please please please dont let Northwestern in the tournament! they are soooooo boring to watch with their unathletic, slow, princeton offense. THey are overachieving and hopefully teams wake up and dont take them lightly and beat them.Dont waste a spot on NU! haha;-)

It wouldn't surprise me at all if that happened. I remembered thinking several times last yr that it appeared some leagues were throwing tournament games to get a lower seed into the big dance. I don't have the exact stats but several top 25 teams were knocked out in the 1st and 2nd rounds of there league tournaments. We'll see what happens this yr. I think I even posted a few times in here last March about leagues possibly throwing games.

NW'rn wins the B10 Trny locking up the auto-bid. :twisted:
