Who has been excited about Taylor Brown?

I think TB deserves his own thread. I've been very impressed with him already this season. I didn't expect him to have the impact he has been having, and this kid is an absolute rebounding machine! He's been getting almost 4 rebounds a game and 4 pts a game in only 13 minutes. I think he will be a double double guy for us in the coming years, and he has the ability to score a lot more I think. What do you guys think of his game so far? Do you think he should be playing more than 13 minutes a game?

I want more TB. I want him for 25+ minutes a game. The kid has talent, and has some explosiveness in him that you can't teach. He needs to work on that under-the-basket tomohawk jam though.

I think his playing time is about right, as he still shows a few signs of inexperience sometimes. I loved the play today when he was pushed and it looked like either a foul or traveling, but the play went on somehow and he nailed the 3 in the corner. Whoever told him to stop shooting 3s after he was like 1-9 was a little premature. But the sky is the limit for him. His mid-range game is sweet, he can finish around the rim at times, and he can hit the three. And he really goes after the ball and comes up with tough rebounds.

I agree that he is a potential double/double guy within a year or two. However, I think he is still very raw (but with great basketball instincts). He almost seems to be a "player-without-a-position", or a "utility" player, in that he is good at most positions but not yet great at one. I believe 13 minutes per game is about right at this point in the year, and think he will be up around 20 mpg in MVC games by year-end.

Agree with your assessment about TB's minutes.... TB is a nice sixth man for this years team... gotta love the upside for his game in the future

I have been a big fan of Taylor when I saw him scrimmaging.....he is TALENTED and his minutes are about right....he will get more and more as he matures and grasps JL's program..this may be way off....but he reminds me a bit of JJ Anderson...course my memory is not real good :)

TB has the ability to surpass TW if he can develop a better handle and shoot a mid-range. He already has shown that next year he will be physically as capable as TW. I just hope he can develop skills for the 3 because then he'll shine to the capability of being all conference by his Jr. year with real glimpse by the end of next year.

He can shoot, rebound, pass the ball, and most of all, he can FINISH plays...

That finish on running the floor from Sammy got the crowd really pumped...

He's going to be an outstanding player in this conference:!:

That play was so smooth.

I like TB and think on the offensive end he will be as good as TW next year (fingers crossed). However, JL limits his playing time because of his laxidasical play on the defensive end. It's very apparent standing in the student section that he doesn't hustle or work while on defense. I'm not saying he doesn't have the ability, it's impossible to judge. But TB still ahs a little to learn about basketball. I think he will learn and will end up being a big contributor for BU. But there was quite a bit of truth to JL's comment about Taylor at the Itoo supper...
