How did ISU do the last TWO times they went to Michigan to play a road game?

ISU lost them both...
2006-2007: 12/16/06, at Western Michigan, ISU lost 65-57
2007-2008: 12/04/07, at Eastern Michigan, ISU lost 72-63

They lost to Western Michigan 65-57 in 2006 and lost to Eastern Michigan 72-63 in 2007....but I am guessing you already knew the answer to that...

NIU is very young, and very talented. Patton is quickly molding a nice nucleus for success in DeKalb. They start 1 junior, 2 sophomores, and 2 frosh. They do have a key senior reserve, Sean Smith who averages 7.2 points in 18.2 minutes.

Their starting lineup:

G Mike DiNunno, Freshman, 13.8 ppg
G Darion Anderson, Sophomore (2008 MAC Newcomer of the Year) 19.7 ppg
G Bryan Hall, Freshman, 1.8 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 1.7 apg (must be an intangibles guy)
F Najul Ervin, Junior, 5.1 ppg
F Sean Kowal, Sophomore (transfer from Colorado, came with Patton), 11.1 ppg

Geneseo's Tyler Storm logs about 12 minutes/game, and averages 3 ppg.

Thats crazy because wasn't Sean Smith a starter when the former coach was there?

Along w/ that, I move on to saying that ISU would have no business losing to Central Michigan...they are an awful team...

Finally, if SIU loses again, it should tell us most of what we need to know about them come the 28th.

I agree and I believe the troubles for SIU will continue tonight.

I'll go with SIU in this one. I don't think NIU is very good yet, and Anderson is their only real good offensive threat. They have lost to Maine, Portland State, and Western Carolina, and also have lost to Tennessee State (their RPI is 343- worst in the country), Air Force, and Arkansas-Little Rock. Their only wins were against Western Illinois, Indiana State, Chicago State, and Alaska-Anchorage (D2).

SIU is as good as any team they have played so far this year and I think their defense will really hurt NIU.

Chicago State's no pushover this year. Not saying they're great by any stretch of the imagination. But their schedule is so weak the rest of the way, they should win a lot of games yet. Pomeroy projects them to finish 17-14.

Though intrigued by NIU, I would still think this is a game SIU should win.

I think Portland St isn't as bad as you may think DC.

I don't believe Charlotte and Nevada are that great either.

Since some people enjoy the RPI so much this early in the season....SIU is #252 and NIU is #299.

MM, where did I say anything about Portland State being bad?
I acknowledge they may be one of the better teams NIU has played.

But, come on! NIU lost to them at home by more than 20 points!
And is there anyone who doesn't think SIU could be better than Portland State?

I agree that Chicago State is a little better this year, but their RPI is still 257! I am not ready to credit NIU with a quality win for beating Chicago State at home.

Sorry DC. I guess I thought you were suggesting it was a bad loss for NIU. If NIU were to lose at home by over 20 points by Purdue, would you lump Purdue in the list of all the teams that beat NIU?

And... I think SIU would give Portland St a run for their money. :-P
