ISU hangs on the beat Morehead 76-70. Ugly game overall. Osiris did not have a FG for the 1st time since the game @ BU his freshman year...

Oguchi had 25 and Phillips had 18...I think

So does ISU get ranked this week?? What will it take for them to get ranked? Undefeated until we beat them?

Looking at the teams just out of the top 25, if you go by votes, Butler is ranked 34th and ISU did not even get one vote in the AP Poll. It probably won't happen. It'll still look good if we beat an undefeated team!

That UIC win is looking good for you guys... and if we can beat them Saturday, it will be our best OOC win. As much as I don't like talking about RPI this early, it will inevitably get brought up anyways... UIC's RPI jumped to 55 with their win over GTech today... BGSU is inside of 100 now and UCSB is at 108. Hopefully some of those schools will stay there or get better... but I am not counting on it...

Most of this is irrelevant anyway because I think gonna take a win over Eastern Mich, UIC, BB game, and only lose 3-4 MVC games for ISU to get a CHANCE at an at large bid...

We will see I guess...

I snuck into Redbird and caught the last 5 minutes or so of the game. The game was certainly a lot closer than I thought as well. I like the Phillips kid a lot. He reminds me of Will Franklin.

Wasn't pretty, but we'll take it. We just couldn't get any flow going offensively and we were out of sync, especially in the 1st half. Odiakosa struggled against Kenneth Faried, despite having a nearly 30lb size advantage. Faried is a smart, strong, aggressive player. Overall, Morehead was scrappy and athletic and they frustrated us, compounded by the fact that we had a lid on the basket for most of the game. We had good looks that just weren't falling. Eldridge was way off his game offensively, but he played solid D and had arguably the biggest play of the game with his steal with 27 secs left when we were up 3. Oguchi, Holloway and Phillips all played fantastic today.

We have 2 days before taking on Central Michigan up there Wed, then we face a strong UIC team on Saturday to end the non-con sched (until the BB).
