Bill Cole

Somewhat related, U of I hosts Clemson tonight in the Big 10-ACC Challenge tonight. The game is on ESPN2 at 6:30.

Yea... I think the B10 actually might win the Challenge this year. Plus - it looks like UIUC will be 11-1 at the worst going into conference play. 9-9 in the B10 as the best conference in the RPI standings.... 21-10 going into B10 Trny... say at least 1-1 there... That's a lock for the NCAA at large bid.

Book it!

Definitely they are much better than everybody expected but it's way early for that kind of optimism.

Tisdale has been impressive.

By saying he is just happy to be there, I wasn't saying that he doesn't try or is content on the bench.. I was just saying that maybe him being on the bench isn't something that will make him leave. I am sure that he has to give it his all everyday or he wouldn't be there. But what is wrong with a kid working hard, being loyal to his scholarship, enjoying college and getting a good education?

You really think so  ACC will win it again and by a fat margin. ;-)

I agree with you Mac :) I thought the same thing. I think the ACC is over-rated this year primarily because of N. Carolina. B-10 took their lumps last year but have more favorable match-ups this year, and more experienced players than last year.

Illinois looks REALLY good tonight, but I think Clemson will be a t least a Sweet 16 team this year; they really have it all -- great coach, B-10 bulk on the inside, great athletes, good outside shooter. As their guards develop consistency they will be a force by postseason time.

Oh, and Purdue beats Duke tonight..... Book it! ;)

Illini lose and Cole doesn't play again.

Tisdale with 10 minutes no shots no points no rebounds 2 turnovers and 3 fouls.

I hope your right, Their down right now, but its early.

Let's make it 2 jars.;)

Illinois had a chance but could not get a shot off!!!WOW

Ohio State looked great today. They clean up their game a bit and they can go a long way this year.

Yikes!

2 is good. ;)

But UIUC losing hurts on my prediction.

Yet OSU helped - but thanks to the ejection to the Miami player.

I don't know what to think of the Duke/Purdue game. :-o

I love Mackey, Keady Court, not a bad set in the house and great fans. The students really get in to it. I miss Keady's faces and the shirt hanging out. You ever been there?
Boiler Up

Purdue seems to always run a clean classy program. You have to love their court! They are in pretty good hands right now and I expect them to play better as the season progresses.

Keady was always great to watch with his shirt hanging out, the red face and with the comb over.

They'll still lose tonight though.;-)

No - Would definitely enjoy a game there. You "buy and fly" us and I am in. I'd even wear Black&Gold. ;)

Only reason OSU wins tonight is because their coach b*tched and whined about Miami's star player taking a swing at one of his players enough for the officials to go to the monitor and eject him...

Not saying it was right, but for Matta to whine about it as much as he did...it was like watching a child have his lunch money taken from him by the school bully.

I'm glad he did "whine" about it. No place for that in a basketball game. This time the bully got caught taking the lunch money and had to suffer the consequences.

the "star" player from Miami was first slapped in the face by the Ohio State player, but as always it is the retaliation that gets penalized.

I agree, the 1st was accidental. The ref could have called a foul on the initial contact of the OSU player, but not eject him from the game.

That's called a good coach ;) . Good call by the refs.

I have no problem standing up for his players, especially when it is physical contact that could really injure others.

BTW walked my team off the court this year because of the lack of control on the officials part.
