South Dakota State @ Drake, 2:05pm CT...

a report this morning says only 2900 tickets sold so far.... :?

South Dakota State is in their 1st year of playing d-I and interest for these virtually unknown non-conference opponents is causing the legions of Drake fans from last year's successfulseason to scatter quickly!!

Many teams do not draw well on Sunday...

You have religion and football, and sometimes both mixed in together if you're a Bears fan

Either way, I think the Sunday games are ridiculous....

I don't understand why they would do that as we have many as well this year.

Luckily, the Bears aren't playing on December 14 so maybe we can draw more than 3,000 against Southeast Missouri State.

Shaunguth,
Love your stats. Keep em coming!:D

Keep in mind.....these records are against Division I (RPI-worthy) teams.

Also, three of our non-conference opponents (Florida, Michigan St., and Butler) are a combined 7-0. That means the rest are not looking too great. I do feel, however, we have a very balanced schedule and should not be affected too much by the lower RPI teams.

We can win this conference. I think we will see a lot of sweeps this year, and then a few HUGE games that will decide who takes the conference title.

Didn't see it posted anywhere, but U of I is on the Big Ten Network right now, in the second half against Jackson State. They're up 48-40.

Indiana St loses at home to North Texas. Wow are they bad. Wow is the bottom of the MVC bad.

Yeah...that's unfortunate even though I think many were predicting that. The cellar dwellers of the mvc may be pretty big cellar dwellers in all of DI basketball...

Unfortunately for us those huge games are at home when the students are not here...go figure right. We have a high chance of winning the valley and we have the luck of getting crappy scheduling. If we can get past those games 3-0 or 2-1..obviously we'll be pretty well set. I'll be in New York during that time and probably listening to them on the internet or something. haha

Josh Young was 0-5 from 3-pt range, Drake in the game is 28.6% from 3-pt.

In the Sycamores' game, even though this is a bad loss, one bright spot....
freshman Carl Richard had a breakout game, 17 pts!
The loss of Marico Stinson really hurts.

Illinois is struggling to stay ahead of Jackson State, they almost had an easier time with Vandy on the road!
Bill Cole isn't even going to play against Jackson State...he needs to get the heck out of Champbana!

The combined record of all of ISU's opponents drops to 0-9 as Wright State gets beat by Central Michigan Saturday

true but the conference season is what matters.
Let's face it, we wouldn't be getting an at large bid this season anyway, so we are playing for the auto bid

Illinois beats Jackson State 78-64 - Bill Cole does get 2 min of garbage time
