An interesting upset tonight--

The Tars of Rollins College (Division II-Winter Park, Florida) beat University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and it wasn't close.

Rollins has a couple of former D1 kids from Illinois. Zachary Pancratz and Craig Reichel both played at Schaumberg High School, and both were recruited by Rob Judson and went to Northern Illinois. They transferred to Rollins when Judson was fired.

And here is a matchup worth waiting for-
University of San Francisco plays The Academy of Art tonight. I have never heard of this school. Apparently, it is their first year of athletic competetion--

They do have a 7-foot center--

That really surprises me....ISU had a nearly 20 pt lead going into the 2nd half...
then gives up 49 points in the 2nd half to a team that'll likely end up with RPI over 300, and hold on for a 6 pt win.

this ended up being just a 2-pt game in the final minute!!!

Now C'mon T - take it easy on the Redbirds. Bradley had a 20 pt early lead on Fl-GC last year and took a 12 pt lead into 1/2 time only to sweat it out for an 8 pt win after Fl-GC cut it to like a 4 pt game with about a minute left. Btw - Fl-GC finished 291 in the RPI.

Early games played safely at home are early games.

Apparently the Redbirds were pretty surprised it got close at the end too. They sure don't sound very happy judging by the quotes in this article:

Rex Walters has a big job ahead of him trying to build USF into a good team. Playing teams like this is not going to draw many fans.
The attendance was listed as 175 fans for the home opener at USF!
