Milwaukee road trip?

New Guy

Anyone going to Milwaukee? Off campus so beer I hope. The arena formerly the Mecca downtown the Saturday before Christmas.

I was looking forward to go to Milwaukee once the bb announcement came out in February. However, this is usually one of the busiest weekends of the year for me. I hope I can make the trip.

there will be a pre-game party. I'm sure details will be released as they are confirmed.

good news

I have decided to go. I think I will use the BU ticket office so we can be around BU fans. I found a hotel next door. Long weekend in a winter wonderland.

I think that I will have to try and make this game. I have relatives in the Milwaukee area, so no hotel....hmm yes I think I will make this trip!

What hotel New Guy?

I booked the Hyatt Regency next door to the arena. The US Cellular formerly the Mecca is right next to the Bradley Center and Midwest Airlines Center about a block and 1/2 west of the downtown river and about 9 blocks west of the lake. But I am still looking at some options a few blocks to the east toward the lake. The Pfister, Knickerbocker, and some others look cool. A co-worker told me downtown Milwaukee is great in December so we are going to make it a couple of days. I don't know why I trust him, he is a cheesehead after all.

Tickets

Tickets

UWM single game tickets went on sale today. I was just wondering if I should get my tix via ticketba#*ard or are tickets going to be available through the BU ticket office? Best available through TM is section 206 row 2. When would tix be available through the ticket office?

For those coming from out of town, I highly suggest using Priceline or Hotwire for your hotel. I routinely have found rooms at either the Hyatt or Hilton (both within walking distance of US Cellular Arena) for under $60/night. Both of these hotels are 3 stars on Hotwire, 2.5 stars on Priceline.

If anyone needs suggestions on restaurants or bars in Milwaukee, shoot me a line and I'll be happy to help you out.

Was it a UW Milwaukee fans that came on this board last season and got a bunch of restaurant/bar/hotel suggestion? I plan on taking this trip, but with a guy from the area so he would know all the good spots.

There were a couple of UW-Milwaukee fans that wrote on this board before and after the game. They were good posters. One even offered to buy anybody going to the return game in Milwaukee a beer.

There's also the gameday bus from Peoria to Milwaukee:
Dec. 20, 2008 Men??™s Basketball at Wisconsin-Milwaukee............ $65...... 1:00 p.m.

They were great guys. I spoke with a couple of them at the game and we even took some pix with 'em. Hopefully we'll see them this year in Milwaukee.

I bought one of them a beer at halftime.. He said he owed me one if I made the trip.. Anyone not too lazy to find the posts? heh.

Just another person who wonders what the BU deal is for this one. I'm obviously out of town in Chicago, so I don't need the bus ride. Is BU selling the tickets on their own? I know I'm in the vast minority, but there are other up here who A. want to go B. don't need the bus and C. want to sit with BU fans.

Any advice for us Chicago BU fans would be helpful!

bubraves, the alumni office is working on a ticket / pregame party package. hopefully we'll know more within a week
