Kirk Wessler has a piece on something he and people here have discussed for quite some time. Here's the gist of it:

Details must be worked out, but it appears Bradley will offer a special package to hard-core fans who want to stand and cheer with the students during break. The concept derives from the old "Molinarmy Reserves," who filled in for the students during breaks in the mid-1990s.
...
For now, the plan would be limited to Section 6, which includes about 250 seats off the end of the visitors' bench. Tickets in Section 8, on the other side of the BU band, would continue to be sold to corporate partner Caterpillar Inc. during the break - EXCEPT FOR THE ISU GAME, when Bradley officials expect a higher demand by vacationing students.

Good to see some action is finally being taken. It's long overdue, IMO.

I feel like with the schedule set, this is the best possible scenario for students and also the people that want to get a little crazy at the games. Good work BU administration.

I can already feel the power of the fans who have always wanted to bust out of their shell instead of sit.

I wish I could go to these games...

This is great news. Great job BU and all involved!
Years ago 2 of my buddys and I went to see a BU game. We had good lower bowl seats. Right in front of us there was three nuns with vails on and they were obstructing our view. My one buddy said to us I am moving to Iowa there is only 30 nuns there. Then my other buddy said, I am moving to Indiana there is only 20 nuns there. Then I said I am moving to Michigan there is only 10 nuns there. At that point, one of the nuns turned around and said why don't you go to HELL! Theres No nuns there!:twisted:
Don't take this off T, don't do it!:lol::lol::lol:

If this were true it would be funny as He!! Good one my friend :)

Let's give KW some love. He wrote an article that probably had an impact for the students and fans. I know some of us have been complaining about this for some time but we need to give credit when a local writer writes something that helps.

Actually, myself and a few other students at the time grabbed KW whenever he was at BU games and pounded the this student problem at him. Glad to see he decided to right about it. Only problem...WHY CANT WE HAVE SECTION 8??? That's my section......oh well, anything it better than nothing, and if we are behind the visitors bench that could be VERY VERY fun.

I think there is a a little wrong with the article, section 6 is not near the visiting bench, like the article says. Section 8 is the section close to the visiting bench. Could be a misprint.

I noticed that. I wonder if it didn't mean Section 8, which is near the visitor's bench.

Do we stil have "interim" classes?

In January of 1986, I took an SOC class in the interim between fall and spring semester. During that time frame, I never missed a home game and none of the other Bradley students missed either. It was a topic of discussion during class. Great seats were available at an affordable student price. As I recall, I had better seats than my normal student section seats.

yes there still are janurary term classes and may term classes

I was in section 6 for my first game. Then I moved to section 8 because section 8 is better. Sorry. ;)

lol, i was just trying to talk up section 6 in case it was not a misprint... I usually find myself in the second row of section 8, which yes, is the better of the two :)

yup. Section 8 front row doesn't have the cheerleaders blocking the floor, although I think some people don't mind...

Wessler printed a correction: http://www.pjstar.com/sports/x1200675951/Wessler-Pot-Shots-begins-with-a-shout-out

I don't have dyslexia, but I do have dyslexic moments, one of which led to an error in my Wednesday column about the plan Bradley is considering to improve atmosphere at basketball games over semester break. In the plan, Bradley students and fill-ins from the hard-core fan base would occupy Section 8 - not Section 6 - of Carver Arena. Section 8 runs up the end zone from the visitors' bench.
