One thing I noticed this morning....the bubble watch on espn.com now mentions both SIU and Creighton as having "work left to do" to get into the tournament. Both teams have fairly similar resumes to the Braves but we are not mentioned. While I think that we have more than some "work left to do" I think this is pretty interesting. SIU's SOS is very high but other than that the numbers are pretty similar.

BU has too many 'bad' losses (which in turn has lowered their RPI significantly) to really be considered for an at-large bid. Yes, they have the same amount of losses as SIU and have an injury consideration, but SIU has a better conference record, a tougher SOS, and more name recognition at this point than the Braves. Had BU been able to win 2 of these 3 games (@ UIC, home against UNI, home against WSU), I think that despite all of the injury and off-court problems, they'd be in the 'work left to do' category.

I agree that SIU has a slightly better resume I just don't know about Creighton. If that tip wouldn't have gone and we could have picked up a sweet against Drake it would have looked a lot better, too.

It doesn't get much bigger then this game. Senior night on ESPN 2, though it's kind of a shame that the announcers will have to discuss Daniel's situation. Sam is going to have a great game because of SIU's ball-pressure but I'm sure he'll be up for it. We gotta get Carver rockin tomorrow!

Just to nitpick something... I don't think the RPI calculation cares which teams you beat and which you lost to... It's just a function of winning pct, strength of schedule, and opponents SOS. So really, doesn't matter who beats us, just their winning pct, and our winning pct. Right?

By definition a bad loss is an opponent that lowers our SOS. Also, the selection committee looks at bad losses.

Mike Radigan, that's what I'm saying though... SOS is just the average winning pct of your opponents... So whether you win or lose to Wisc-Milwaukee, your SOS goes down.

In Lunardi's Games of the Week (part of his Bracketology), he makes the following comment.....

TUE/Southern Illinois at Bradley
I predict one of these two teams wins the Missouri Valley tournament.

Nice to see....I'd have to agree with him as long as Daniel is back. I'd probably throw ISU into the mix as well.

Looks like my weather thread was deleted but the NWS has updated the snow totals to 4-6 inches by Tuesday evening and 20-30 MPH winds after that. Hope that doesn't change peoples minds to come out and watch JC and Salleys last home game and Ruffins farewell.

Your thread is still up there. Thanks for the update.

Also, there is another pre-game party like the one before the Michigan State game that starts at 3:00. I belive the band/cheerleaders will perform and WMBD will broadcast from there.

And drink a lot of water to avoid cramps LOL. I imagine JC and SM will play the whole game again. Wilson's been prone to cramps a few games this season so hopefully they keep him hydrated.

Keys to the game:
1) rebound
2) stay out of foul trouble
3) shoot over 45%
4) keep SIU under 62 points

Their is no team in the Valley that I would rather beat than SIU. A BU victory Tuesday night will successfully end any "at large" talk dealing with the Egyption mutts and that would make my week. :D

GO BRAVES!!

Couldn't have said it better myself!

As far as the game goes, I'd like to see more of TCS bringin the ball upcourt when Sam doesn't. I say this because it's going to be hard for JC to get his own shot against SIU and he's going to have to work hard to get open, having him bringing up the ball a lot will only add to his difficultities. Also, Tyrone is definately quicker then Jeremy.

So is the game still on if Bradley cancels classes tomorrow? I know in High School all extra curricular activities are cancelled if school is canceled, however with Bradley's arena off campus does that relate to school being canceled? It's starting to get real nasty out with a prolonged period of sleet before the 4-8 inches of snow comes down and 20-40 MPH winds. This one is shaping up to be worse than the one last month that canceled classes. People are crashing all over the place already, including 1 fatal accident in Dunlap. I don't have much confidence in people trying to get to school in the morning time. Grounds crew is due in at 4am to start getting stuff cleaned off but we'll see what happens.
