I hope Salley avoids stupid fouls (Ts) this game. That has the potential to hurt us badly. I really want BU to win this game. We've been playing well and ISU's coming off a Drake loss (like last time).
 
We have a very telling 2 weeks 4 games ahead of us, two straight on the road at the ISU's, home to Creighton and at Drake. Manditory we split these next 4. That means we have to win a game on the road where only Drake has won, they have swept the ISU's or at Drake.

Keys to the game for BU:

Get off to a good start (the key is Ruff...as he goes we go...then again, another 20 from Theron wouldn't be bad either)

Rebound (Wilson/Salley 14 rebounds; Austin/Singh/Collins 10 rebounds)

Stay out of foul trouble (that means you Salley!)

Have a good shooting night (43% is the key here...we've only lost 2 games all year when we've shot that or better; the Vandy game and the 69-68 loss to Drake)

Defense (we are 11-3 when our defense gives up 72 points or less)

Score 75 points (good # real fan as it closely relates to my previous stat)


I figure this is my version of Dave Snell's keys to the game...

One I will add...

Of our 10 losses, only 2 of those have come when we had less turnovers than our opponent (Michigan State; Wichita State)

So we need to take care of the ball...previous meeting was 12/13 us but we had 16 assists to their 8.

Unfortunately on the flip side of that, they killed us on the boards, and that was mainly w/o Slack, so we need to make sure to get bodies on Edlridge and Sampay and avoid getting crushed on the o-glass again (13 off)

They don't defend well from 3 so if we're hitting our shots, it should be a great night for the Braves...I'm hoping to see a BIG night from JC!

That being said, GO BRAVES! Lets get our BIGGEST win of the season tonight!

The "Taste of Redbird Country" will be in Horton Field House (4:30-6:30). It is a lot of fun.

Typical local vendor set up with their specialties at a very reasonable price. They also have an "adult beverage" area. :)

Prices are very cheap and we usually see many of our B-N friends there. There are usually other BU fans along with ourselves there and we have been treated well (minimal heckling).

You will find my wife and kids in the play area around 5 and myself in the, the, ahem...well you know were I'll be.;)

Speaking of old and tired, I thought the ???Buck Frad*ey" gear that ISU students have been donning for BU visits for more years than I can remember was special stuff reserved for the I-74 rivalry. Nope. One kid in the front row the other night painted up his body and lettered his chest with the message: ???Duck Frake.??? Yawn. I guess that??™s what passes for imagination in the land of Normal. Either that, or perhaps ISU offers a major in derivatives of Pig Latin. Either way, the grade is in: Needs Improvement.

Way to go Kirk! I've said it once and I'll say it again and again. There is a significant number of ISU fans who care more about the failure of outside factors (refs / opponents, especially BU) than rooting for their own team. And I don't mean the intelligent ISU fans, like DannyCooksey for example, who post on our board.

Bradley fans just want wins, whoever the opponent may be. If it's against ISU, then it's just that much sweeter.
 
the new slogan is PU BU apparently. i'm here now and have seen a couple people wearing that shirt. its funny that they have a whole week called battle Bradley week. i'm glad we don't do that back at Bradley.
 
There is a big problem in sports these days as a lot of people attend games only to try to redicule the opposing teams players instead of cheering on their own; I call it a lack of sportsmanship ( or class ) and it is coming from persons that have never played sports because if they ever had they would not act in the manner they do.Whatever happened to the cheer your own team on attitude?
