MVC Tourney Hotels

For those heading down to St Louis for the MVC Tournament. Do you have your hotel rooms booked? If so, which hotel and how did you book it?

Bradley will be staying at the Renaissance Grand
(Fans are able to get a special rate $109/night (plus tax and parking), by calling the hotel at 314-621-9600

I'd like to have everything booked by the end of the week. Plus- I really want to stay downtown this year.

booked the Renaissance Grand many months ago, I think the cost was 119 a night including breakfast each morning.

You really should make the reservation sooner rather then later for atleast that hotel.

I'm thinking about booking the Millennium Hotel (Downtown St Louis). They've got some excellent rates throughout the weekend, plus it's under a mile to Scottrade Center.

We stay at the Hampton Inn Union Station. It is a little expensive ($145) but parking is free, they have a great breakfast, and we can walk to Scottrade. We like to hang out at Maggie O'Brien's and it is halfway from the hotel to the Arena.

I would like to stay in the team hotel, but parking is expensive and you cannot walk to the Arena. It just seems a little too far.

With more restaurants and such moving downtown near the new ballpark we may reconsider in the future, but for this year we are sticking with the old plan.

We also stay at the Hampton Inn Union Station- but we book shortly after we leave each year and get out rooms for about 95 a night....

We enjoy the walk to the games, as it gives us a chance to review games just seen as well as "dry up" a bit... lol

Staying at the Renaissance Grand just because it's the team hotel. Booked back in September I think. I have never stayed there before.

The Grand is pretty overrated...

I think they're still charging $8 for a small cup of coffee to the room

That being said, I just have a short jaunt from the Westplex.

I booked the Renaissance Grand back in late July (only because it's the team hotel). There must not be any strange conventions in town that weekend this year, because last year the whole city was booked in December.

If your looking for a nice 3-star hotel right in downtown St Louis, check out the Millennium Hotel St. Louis on hotels.com. It's less than a mile to the arena and a nice overall location.

It's priced at just $89.60/Friday and $96.80/Saturday

The Millenium is a nice hotel, and is usually priced below the other downtown hotels. The Bradley team stayed there 1 year, before the last 4 year at the Renaissance.

The Grand is very nice but I get tired of waiting for my car and paying the valet every time you want to go somewhere, I chose the Hampton because you can walk to the games and hopefully party more after BU wins.

Braveman, I and a few posters from the PJstar site all stay at the Hampton. Not a very long walk at all and as he said helps us "dry" out a little;) We book at the end of the weekend for the following year, so we are set a year in advance.

the Hampton it is-Have not stayed there but have several friends that do and they say it is very nice-we may have to make it the home for the BradleyFans.com community by the way this board is sounding as there are many using this hotel

On Sunday I booked our hotel for Arch Madness through Priceline. I've been trying for weeks and finally scored a winner.

Our group of four will be staying the Crowne Plaza downtown St. Louis (1 mile from the Scottrade Center). We will be staying for three nights (Thursday through Sunday). I bid $100/night on priceline and won.

It's the best offer that I could find staying downtown. Plus- when I called to verify everything with the hotel, she mentioned that four teams are staying there!

The downtown Crowne Plaza was being renovated last year, and is a nice newly renovated hotel. You'll like it.

Does anyone know if the Braves Club is planning on buying the student tickets for the tournament this year? I'm assuming students will get in free again but I'm just wondering if anyone knows for sure.

The operator told me Wichita State and Indiana State were staying there. I may need to call back and see (but those are the ones I remember). She didn't mention BU or IL State.

I am just going by what it says on the official site. It says the Shockers are at the Westin.
