  • BU recruit- Tristan Wilson- class of 2009 (juco)

Here is a new name connected with Bradley recruiting, but he is not entirely new to fans who follow this board.
Tristan Wilson is a 6'5" shooting guard who will be a sophomore at Yuba College this year.
He just visited Iowa State last weekend, but has not received a scholarship offer from them. Bradley is listed on his recruiting profile, but it's not confirmed whether BU has offered. He has offers from Cal State-Northridge (where Xavier Crawford will be a junior this year), and from Long Beach State and Cal State Sacramento.
Coach Cornelius tells me this kid is special, and perhaps as talented as anyone he has had at Yuba!

Wilson currently has two offers from Long Beach State and Cal State Northridge. He also claims that Alabama, Utah Valley State, UNLV and Bradley have been showing heavy interest lately.

"I'm just trying to wait to see what else I can get," Wilson said. "Honestly, I just want to go wherever I feel comfortable. I'll go anywhere. I don't mind cold weather or heat or anything."

On his official visit to Ames, Wilson got a chance to hit the hardwood on Saturday morning with a group of current Cyclones. He came away extremely confident about how his own game stacks up at the Big 12 level.

"Honestly, I think that I could start for Iowa State right now," Wilson said.
Wilson has quite the basketball resume. It all began in high school at Apollo High School in Phoenix, Ariz. Wilson was the class 4A player of the year two years in a row where he led Apollo to back-to-back state championships. He then committed to play at Sacramento State. After not playing as a freshman, he transferred to Yuba where things really took off for him a season ago. He led the 49ers to their best season in school history (32-4) and now is receiving national attention.

"We've sent 17 kids to Division I in the last five or six years and he's by far the best player we've ever had," said Yuba head coach Doug Cornelius. "I have kids starting at UNLV. I had kids who started at Bradley during their Sweet 16 run. Tristan is better than all of them."

Tristan Wilson is a sophomore at Yuba College, and was recruited by Bradley and Iowa State, as well as a couple California schools. But he preferred to stay closer to his home.--

Wilson averaged 18.8 ppg and 6.3 rebounds last season for the Yuba College 49ers. Coach Cornelius has said he is the most talented player he has ever had play for him.
He was just rated the #16 junior college player in the country by Jucojunction.com--

Interesting news regarding former Bradley recruit Tristan Wilson. He committed to Long Beach State in the early signing period back in November. He started the season as Yuba's leading scorer over the first several games, then missed several games due to injury.

But he has been dismissed from the team by Coach Doug Cornelius for violating team rules. No further explanation was released. He will be allowed to stay in school, and if he finished classes and graduates, he will still be able to go to Long Beach State on scholarship.

Wilson's absence contributed to Yuba not performing as well as expected in the first half of their season. They also played 17 of their frst 18 games away from home. They are now 13-7, and 2-1 in their conference after a win last night.

Yuba star player, and former BU recruit, Tristan Wilson has been reinstated to the team, after being dismissed in early January.

Yuba is in 1st place in their conference, and have won 10 games in a row.
