  • BU recruit- class of 2011- Chasson Randle

Bradley is recruiting Chasson Randle, a 6'1", 180 pound guard and a 2011 recruit from Rock Island, Illinois.
He is rated by some as a top 2 player in Illlinois in the loaded class of 2011--

According to this Illinois-Rivals premium article, Randle visited Bradley last fall, and has offers from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, and Bradley.

Randle hasn't had a chance to take many visits since he started back up with school, but he did get over to Peoria this fall and saw what the Missouri Valley school had to offer.
"I went to Bradley and it went alright," Randle said.
That visit produced another offer for the 6-foot-2 guard, and he has a host of interest from some big time schools as well. He now has offers from Illinois , Iowa State , Indiana , and Bradley.
"I'm up to four (offers) now, Bradley offered me," he said. "I'm hearing a lot from Florida right now, also Kansas, Ohio State and Wisconsin ."
"I'll probably go to Purdue," Randle said. "They are close to offering. Iowa is close (to offering) too."

There's no way this kid comes to Bradley. There was absolutely ZERO positive energy that I felt from that article haha

    1. "It went 'alright'"

    2. "I'm hearing a lot from Florida right now, also Kansas, Ohio State and Wisconsin ."

we have about a month before we are no longer in the picture already..if that hasn't happened already...he visited a year ago. I guess he didn't get to see the new facilities haha

I was wondering how long before the first "Bradley doesn't stand a chance" post.
2 1/2 hours is pretty good!It sounds like BU was involved early, but unfortunately, now I agree that there are too many top teams interested.

Class of 2011! Let's give winning and our new facility a chance to grab these guys. You just never know. When it come to guards JL has a great story and probably there is not a coach out there that can say what he can regarding what he can teach them in getting to the next level. He maybe really close to his family and he wants them to see him play a lot.

usually I'm not that way....actually that's the first time I've REALLY felt like we don't have a chance with a recruit...

just as soon as I say the "it was alright" quote...i knew

and then when I saw the names Kansas and Purdue it was just confirmation..

we're the ONLY mid-major on this guy...i like that, but I mean...this is less than a slim chance

seems like a nice kid though (just from the picture) haha

          Edit:

Oh wait!! I just reread the others that are interested which include Florida, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.

There's not a bad program in the bunch!!

But if I had to pick 3 BCS schools BU had a chance of beating out for a recruit I would pick the other 3 that have offered so far..

          Iowa St....well no explanation needed
Illinois..I'm just not really intimidated by them much
and Indiana, because a recruit may see the lies, scandals and turmoil that program is going through and want to steer clear

The 6-2, 165-pound point guard still has three years of high school basketball left at Rock Island (Ill.) H.S., but a handful of schools have already seen enough to offer a scholarship. Indiana, Illinois, Iowa State and Bradley are four that have offered the Class of 2011 prospect, and more figure to be on the way soon.

Chasson Randle now claims to have 6 offers; 4 from the Big Ten, 1 from the Big 12, and Bradley.-
One of the top young guards in the state of Illinois for the basketball recruiting class of 2011 has an offer from Iowa State. That's Chasson Randle, a 6-foot-1 point guard out of Rock Island.

Randle is blowing up on a national scale right now as he currently has six offers from: Iowa State, Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin, Bradley and Illinois
                .

Another new article about 2011 star Chasson Randle from Rock Island.
It looks like it is a free article.
It describes his recent visit to see a game at Iowa State.

He is still listing Bradley among his options-

CSR: What scholarship offers do you currently have and do you have a current leader?
CR: I have offers from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Iowa, and Bradley. If I made a list of favorites right now I would definitely have Iowa State at the top.

If his leader is Iowa State, then we can still be in the running. It means either a) the big boys aren't quite what he wants/aren't real keen on him, or b) He is looking for the mid-major type (lets be real, IowaSt isn't a real BCS team lately)

I'd like to think we generally win the 1 on 1 battle with IowaState. Of course Iowa State could have nudged a big boy out somewhere and he's looking at big boys + Iowa State and we're not in the picture (in his mind).

Has he taken an official visit?

It looks like Chasson Randle's recruiting is picking up. He is just a sophomore (class of 2011),and now he has several Big Ten teams involved with him.

A new premium article from the Purdue Rivals site reports that he was at Purdue on an unofficial visit for Purdue's 75-50 win over Ohio State Saturday. Purdue has not yet offered a scholarship, but they list offers from Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, and Wisconsin from the Big Ten, Iowa State of the Big 12, and Bradley.

I had a chance to see Chasson Randle last Friday in Rock Island's regional championship win over Geneseo. He scored 25 points and went 5-for-5 from 3-point range. He plays good defense and had a couple steals that led to fast-break points for Rock Island. He turned one into a breakaway dunk.

Greg McDermott was in attendance Friday night. Northwestern and Purdue assistants were at Rocky's semfinal game Wednesday.

                            Still recruiting.

Rock Island won again. Apparently Weber,Pearl,Coach Les and a Kentucky assistant coach were in the stands.
