  • BU recruit followup- James Davis

Bradley had recruited James Davis out of high school in Columbus, Ohio when he graduated in 2007--

but he committed to Toledo. However, because Toledo coach Stan Joplin was fired, he never attended Toledo, and went to a prep school-- Harmony Community School in Cincinnati, for a year. There he was their 2nd leading scorer and leading rebounder.

Today he announced that he will attend Wyoming. --

Now he goes by the name A.J. Davis, but it's the same kid, despite the Rivals profile listing him at 6'1", instead of 6'5"--

James Davis is similar to Larry Anderson?

Well I don't know what the chances are we will have another scholarship open up. But until he signs somewhere it seems like every story makes me think how this effects Larry Anderson's recruiting. I know I have a one track mind with no information as backup, but if a scholarship did open up I would love to fill it with Anderson. I think he visited, but have read no documented stories on his recruitment since then. Can't find that he committed anywhere. So when I see this story all I can think of is they sound like similar players and Wyoming was one of the schools he was considering so I hope that eliminates them. Of course Anderson is from Cali and there are plenty of schools to look at out there. Or he could be thinking of JUCO. But I can still dream until I hear he signs somewhere or we have no players leaving for sure.

You are right, Anderson has not committed anywhere, yet. And, of course, Bradley does not have any available scholarships currently. But we know that every year there seems to be a player or 2 that leave unexpectedly. And I wouldn't be surprised if it happened this year. But Anderson is not the "big" player that many fans want to see Bradley sign for next year, even though he sounds like a player that could develop into a very good MVC player, like a Theron Wilson-type.
I think there are still some unsigned big men available, too. It's quiet right now, but maybe some things will still happen?
