New premium article on Scout again says Wes Witherspoon plans to wait on his decision--
Stay up to date with all the college basketball recruiting news and more at 247Sports.com

The articles says this is a list of his suitors--
LSU, Memphis, Texas, Alabama, Virginia, Tennessee, Clemson, Colorado, Oregon and George Washington.

Note that Bradley is ignored, what a surprise! But I hear Bradley is still on his list.

ESPN has WW ranked #67 in their top 150. He's listed as their #12 SF with a score of 89. I don't know how ESPN ranks among other recruiting services, but they do still list Bradley as one of his choices. My Insider subscribtion expired and I have not yet renewed, so I can't speak for any other details.

Have not heard anything mentioned lately so is WW still on the radar for the Braves or has he moved on to the bigger suitors?:

The latest is an article dated January 16, 2008 on the Rivals.com recruiting site. It talks about Witherspopon's recruiting and visits he is beginning to plan. It may be a premium article--

It doesn't sound good for Bradley--
Liburn (GA) Berkmar High wing Wesley Witherspoon is one of the top unsigned prospects in the 2008 class. The 6-foot-8, 185-pound small forward had put recruiting on the back burner the first month of the high school basketball season, but is now beginning to think about setting up four official visits. With offers from many of the top programs in college basketball, the question becomes which four lucky programs will get a shot at signing the coveted wing.
"I'm considering Memphis, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Clemson and Oklahoma," Witherspoon said. "I would say Memphis, Texas and Virginia are recruiting me the hardest"

Despite a couple recent articles about Wes Witherspoon that don't mention Bradley, today ESPN updated their recruiting site with a report about Witherspoon, and includes Bradley among the schools he is considering--

That's a good short list to be included on. He would fill out our 08 class quite nicely. We would have very good balance and allow people to play their natural postions. Maybe we become more attractive with the quality of guards we have to surround him coming in and he would have AT next to him for 4 full years. Put that video of the new facilities to some good use!

Looks like we would have the beat out K-State, and then Clemson in the end.

Looks like rivals has a newer article (from U. of Kentucky) on WW

Can anyone post highlights of the article??

This kid would be a huge get for Les.

It doesn't say much new. It reports that Witherspoon had visited Kentucky and was interested in them, but now they aren't returning his calls.
Witherspoon-- "I'm wide-open," he added. "I'm mainly looking at Memphis, Texas, Virginia, Florida, Oklahoma, Colorado and Clemson, but I haven't narrowed it down yet."

                  No mention of Bradley.

It's nice that we were mentioned in the recruiting process for Witherspoon...but there is no chance that he will be coming to BU, unfortunately.
Too many big fish in that pond right now. Time to devote our recruiting attention and resources toward more realistic targets.

I wonder just how much attention and resources we're wasting on WW rather than the more "realistic" targets? I doubt it's much, if any.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Wes Witherspoon has narrowed his choices down to a few high majors, and says he will announce his decision at a news conference may 1st.

Can't these recruits ever just make an announcement without calling a nationwide press conference? I am guessing it might not be Bradley.

Ruff held a presser to announce he was choosing BU, so I can't complain too much. If they were calling pressers to announce they were hilltop-bound we might like them a little more!

Wait a minute....Ruffin was a local kid, going to a local school, and wanted to give his local school a little publicity, and there's no denying that DRuff even had a little local fan base as well.
The only press people at the Ruffin press conference were the same reporters who had been covering DRuff locally for years through his state title run.
These "high profile" recruits are doing it totally for themselves, as they often give their press conferences at their prep schools hundreds and thousands of miles from their home towns, and they are often going to schools clear across the country, so their not trying to give the local school some press.
They are doing it for self promotion and promotion of their handlers/investors.
It is the OJ Mayo way of doing things, to get the highest public profile you can.
