  • Chase Adams

I think Bradley's first recruiting priority should be to sign a strong power forward with Donte Thomas like skills. But in addition to that, I would like to see Bradley recruit players that could improve their ball handling and ability to press the other teams' ball handlers.

I really enjoyed watching Chase Adams from Orr High School last night. It would be fun to watch DLO, Pittman and Chase Adams press the competition. That little guy is FAST!

Has Bradley shown any interest in recruiting him?

There were reports that Bradley offered him a scholarship way back early in his freshman year when he was at a different high school (Chicago Heights Marian Catholic HS)- Note the date on this post-

VerbalCommits has been reporting the offer since October, 2014!

However, I do not think we are currently recruiting him. That "offer" from October, 2014 would have been before he ever played a high school game. In October, 2014, Geno Ford was the Bradley head coach, and Chin Coleman was doing the recruiting. Chase Adams was playing for the Mac Irvin program back then (more recently he has been with Derrick Rose sponsored Team Rose), and as we know, Chin Coleman was very closely aligned with the Mac Irvin coaches (he was himself a coach with Mac Irvin program). I seriously doubt that offer is still valid after almost 4 years, especially since we have changed coaches. Most other recruiting sites do not show that he holds an offer from Bradley. The verbalcommits.com page shows he has more recent offers from UIC, Southern Utah, and Oral Roberts.
The kid is listed in various places as either 5'6", 5'7", or 5'8", and though he is an exciting player, his game is far more suited to small school high school than to Division I basketball. The Bradley offer in 2014 was made when Chase Adams was barely 5 feet tall and had a lot of hype surrounding him because of his terriffic ball handling skills. Recruiters presumed he would grow taller than he did. He is a good 3-point shooter, but his height will make it hard for him to get shots at the D1 level.

Here are a couple videos of Chase Adams from years ago.
Note this one has over 14 million views!
When asked about his size, Chase Adams said "the height stuff doesn't mean anything."Chase Adams (12 years old in the video) had as big a 7th grade season at...

Here he is as a high school freshman-
Chase Adams might be best known for his high-level ball-handling ability or his diminutive size. But what allowed Chase to make an immediate impact with his ...

I posted some observations about Chase Adams and the rest of the Chicago Orr seniors here-

And a good article about him and some of the things he has dealt with-
For almost two and a half years, it was impossible for Orr guard Chase Adams to separate basketball from the sudden death of his older brother Drake.
