Now another highly rated 2018 recruit that had committed elsewhere appears to be leaning toward decommitting and going to Missouri..
4-star big man Carte'are Gordon, who was considering Illinois at one time, committed to St. Louis University way back in October, 2016. But suddenly he is hinting he will switch to Missouri-

Something very funny is happening for all these recruits who had verbally committed (some had even signed) elsewhere, and are now going to Missouri instead since they hired Cuonzo Martin-
    > 5-star 2017 recruit Michael Porter, Jr. was committed and had signed an NLI to attend Washington, but then asked for and was granted a release, and switched to Missouri
    > His brother, 4-star recruit Jontay Porter, who used to be a 2018 recruit, was also verbally said to be going to Washington, but he too changed his mind, reclassified to 2017, and committed to Missouri
    > Jeremiah Tilmon, another 5-star big man from the class of 2017, had committed to and signed a NLI to attend Illinois. But last April, he also asked for and was given his release, only to quickly switch to Missouri
    > Blake Harris, a 6'3" guard is a 3 or 4-star, Top 100 recruit, depending on which recruiting service you check, from the class of 2017. He was another kid who was previously committed and signed to the University of Washington. But he also asked for and was granted a release from his NLI, and eventually switched to Missouri.
    > Javon Pickett is a 6'4" guard who was a 3/4 star recruit from the class of 2017. He also was committed and signed to Illinois, but last April he asked for and was granted his release, and then verbally committed to Missouri. He has reclassified to a 2018 recruit while he attends prep school for an extra year at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas.
    > And now Torrence Watson, another 6'4" 3/4-star shooting guard from the class of 2018. He verbally committed to Ohio State on Julu 10 this year, then decommitted 6 weeks later. Now he verbally commits to Missouri for next year.
    > And now 2018 big man recruit Carte'are Gordon, who is verbally committed to St. Louis University is hinting he might be ready to decommit and switch to Missouri.

I am sure that easily sets an all time record for the number of recruits poached from other's schools commits.
That makes 6 highly rated recruits that were committed to other schools, 4 of the 6 were signed to NLI's to other schools, who all were enticed to switch to Missouri in just the past 4 months, and perhaps a 7th recruit ready to switch if Carte'are Gordon goes through with it. It sure seems to me there may be some sleazy tampering going on at Missouri. But surely the fine boosters there would never do such a thing, would they?.

Well there's a simple, non-cheating answer for all of them. The coaches at the schools they had been committed to were all fired, except SLU. The Porter's father went to work at Missouri. I assume Harris was their friend. Tilmon, Pickett, and Gordon all saw an opportunity to go to a school that is close to where they are from and is on the sudden upswing, so they might play for national titles right away. No conspiracies required.

So you are certain that no boosters, AAU coaches, intermediaries or friends of Porter or Martin, or street agents were ever involved in any way?

I might be willing to consider that if it wasn't Missouri, one of the most corrupt and penalized programs in NCAA history. Doesn't anyone else remember these scandals?-
Academic scandals and NCAA penalties under Norm Stewart?
          The Myron Piggie/Kareem Rush scandal?
And all the Ricky Clemons recruiting/academic fraud/domestic abuse scandals?
All the impermissible benefits scandals and the academic fraud scandals under Frank Haith?
Missouri ended up vacating their entire 2013-14 season due to all the scandals that came to light.
...Not to mention the Nevin Shapiro scandal in which Missouri hired Frank Haith who was embroiled in one of the sleaziest scandals in college history and was suspended and penalized while he was at Missouri.
Then there were additional academic fraud and impermissible benefits scandals under the next coach, Kim Anderson, too, which lead to loss of scholarships, extending their probation, and Missouri being banned from postseason play in 2016!
And still yet another more recent academic fraud scandal still under investigation at Missouri?

If you do a simple Google search for "Missouri basketball scandal", you get over 1 million hits referring to numerous different scandals over the years at Missouri!-

Not saying they can't be cheating. Most players like the Porters who plan on being one and done don't bother following the rules of a system they don't really want to be a part of. I won't be surprised when the NCAA vacates Mizzou's 2017-2018 season; I was merely pointing out that there is a reasonable explanation for each players decision.

Yes, you are right, and I guess we should give them the benefit of the doubt since this is an all-new administration and coaching staff.

But I know a couple Missouri boosters, and even they admit their history of multiple scandals is not a very pretty one. There is a big Missouri following that is desperate for success without scandal. And for Ronnie Suggs and his family's sake, I wish Mizzou great success.
