wow - talk about interest in Bradley basketball skyrocketing...
even on a Super Bowl Sunday afternoon - traffic is peaking at a couple hundred to find out about our newest Bradley Brave!!!

I checked a few other message boards - and even the busiest - the Shocker board - only had 9 people on, and the ISU & SIU boards had
only 1 or two - but the deadest board of all was....well, you know.....they had only a single YahooBot

and I see practically everything we talk about or mention here get discussed elsewhere on another message board or on people's twitters.
Literally within minutes after news is posted here, it's cut and pasted or tweeted about...people must have BradleyFans loaded on their browser continually!

There's a guy who ruins MemphisHoopers.com - he has more..

We are one over now, so my recollection is we can't take anymore commitments until 2 current players are no longer on the roster.

We can take as many commitments as Coach Wardle wants to get, as long as only 13 players enroll next season on scholarship. So this will all get sorted out over the next few months.

To clarify, at this time, only 1 current scholarship player will have to leave before next year's class starts, or 1 recruit fail to enroll.

We are currently 1 under the limit of 13 scholarships for this season 2015-16, since Warren Jones left, and as far as we know that scholarship has not been re-used (there were unconfirmed rumors that it might have been given to D'Angelo McBride for the remainder of this season).

3 scholarships will be open next season (the Bell, Shaw, and Jones scholarships), and we now have 4 recruits committed (only 2 have signed so far). Those scholarships will not be officially counted until those recruits actually enroll at Bradley in the summer or fall, but sometime before all 4 new recruits enroll, one player currently on scholarship will have to leave or go off scholarship.

We can speculate who that might be, but we would prefer not to see names posted on the board. I actually expect there will be at least one or two more new 2016 recruits that emerge before all is done.

Dave Reynolds has a good column about the newest commit Darrell Brown..
PEORIA — Bradley men’s basketball added another important piece to next season’s team with the verbal commitment Sunday of Darrell Brown Jr., a point guard from Germantown, Tenn., a suburb of Memphis…

(caution, gobs of pop-ups and questionnaires that pop up before you can access article - even if you are a subscriber)

apparently this one was influenced by our assistant Jimmie Foster's connections...
and the fans can be proud as they obviously created the very atmosphere that appealed to Darrell & his family!!
I have to think he knew that some of his other offers would be as a back-up or deep sub for a few years and some were with the requirement to redshirt...
I think he has a great chance to start here from day-1

I don't know of any rule that limits how many commitments a team can land...but some leagues have rules to limit
                "OVERSIGNING"....

The Big Ten disallows any team from oversigning more than 3 players in football (three players in football), then yanking scholarships away from others to solve the problem...but it is a topic of discussion & concern only in basketball
Big Ten fans are furious about oversigning in recruiting, and rightfully so.What does the league office think about the questionable practice? As most of you know by now, the Big Ten banned oversigning in 1956.

Tom Crean has one oversign for the 2012 season and two currently for the 2013 season. Is he actually outsmarting college basketball in this strategy?

This is exactly what happened to Matt Roth who then got run off to solve IU's oversigning-

I doubt if any such rule exists in the Missouri Valley..... this article says...
"It is uncommon, but not unheard of, for programs to oversign to guard against transfers,
players pursuing professional opportunities or other forms of attrition."
