Koch Barr
I was worried that an extended wait to sign him might make us vulnerable to other recruiters. Since we are getting close now, perhaps we will indeed get his LOI and can rest easy. The guy is a top player from what I can see.
Thanks for the update and info on national letters of intent.

Despite a few "sky-is-falling" alarmists spreading rumors that bigger schools are trying to lure Koch Bar, I have said from the beginning what Coach Karius says, that he is solid with his commitment to Bradley. Coach Drew Adams has a close relationship with him, so I don't think that will change.

But Coach spoke to that exact scenario yesterday and is proud of his reputation of NOT just working players hard, but getting the most out of them and seeing them develop & improve...
If some kid who doesn't want a coach like that says no to Bradley then it actually saves us a ton of time & trouble - the exact trouble we have seen way too much of the past four years.

we should get both Letters of Intent as planned and it's looking more like we won't get a 3rd commit this fall - maybe wait to see what holes need to be filled as the season progresses.

Alonzo Verge - reportedly has offers from both BRADLEY & the Illini - has now left Arlington Country Day (FL) and is transferring back to the Chicago area...
this is really odd timing, and it may mean he's gonna go to another prep maybe even for next year...since he likely won't be allowed to play on any team in Illinois the rest of the year - and this is his senior season...

-he pronounces his first name as if it is "Kotch"
-and I think he has a very good chance to be the most athletically talented big man since Zach - but note I am not necessarily saying success will come right away - any more than it has for guys like Callum Barker....
It takes time to develop - especially since Koch Bar is still relatively new to basketball ...and is in a system currently at Arlington Country Day that has not always developed big men.
Some might recall that Saihou Jassey was tremendously gifted as an athlete and could have worked himself into a great ball player - but attitude & understanding lagged behind his athleticism.
I doubt Koch will have those same degree of problems as Jassey did, and the fact that Koch Bar did play a couple summers with the AAU Indiana Elite and got really good coaching might help make him the best incoming big man we've had since Zach.
