Originally posted by wily coyoteI really liked the Covington kid also. Coach Mo has done well getting him to WIU. Doesn't surprise me one bit though. He could always recruit. Covington and the PG from Lincolnshire were the best two kids not wearing a Simeon uni.Really liked the Morgan Park Jr. we're recruiting (Josh Cunningham). liked him better than the two Orr kids but they were pretty good to just not as good as Cunningham.I would be happy with all or any of the 3.
anyone know if it is grades/attitude/wants to stay close to home?

I do know that Covington & his family did develop a great relationship with the staff at WIU
..here's a good story about what Mo thinks

Originally posted by wily coyoteYes he was and he's going to SMU and play for Brown, jank and Jerrance. Got to talk to Jerrance a little bit and they love Sterling.
I can't remember but I am pretty sure he was second on Illinois' list behind players like Xavier Rathan Mayes and Demetrius Jackson so he committed elsewhere despite those players not choosing ILL then Tate grabbed the scholy

I am pretty excited about Swopshire, he appears to be a great get for BU. I will say the direction Geno seems to be going will set us up to play with anyone in the country, but it also seems to be a high-risk, high-reward, system. Few shooters, maybe not great pg or big, but great athletes and wings that create match-up problems for many teams. At the very least it should make for entertaining basketball!

Yes, we were in the running for Pollard. But I am not sure he would have been any better for us than Tucker or Swopshire can be. Kendall Pollard is an extremely athletic 6'4" kid, but he has never developed his shot. We seem to already have more than enough athletic wing prospects and recruits that are not great shooters.

that would mean we'd be bringing in a four man class that consists of FOUR 6-6 wing players.... not one of which has a solid reputation as a lights-out 3-pt shooter...
so - since almost everyone agrees that our three biggest needs were PG, low post player who is ready to play ASAP, and some 3-pt shooting prowess - then our four-man class misses on all three. Does anyone else think that just maybe we are going to still get more??
As for the shooters, I think this shows Geno has identified both Swopshire and Zacevic as his shooters, and numbers seem to back it up. Don't get me wrong, I want a true post, and would love to compliment him with a bulky PF, but since not a lot exist, I'll take talent over untalented size. Ohio State is a 2 seed with two 6'7" 210 point "interior" players, it can be done. It also seems everyone recruited as a tall wing anymore ends up at the 4 in college, it's just the way of the game. Tucker seems like he'll have a frame to do well.
