  • Well, the storm didn't last long in the B-N area, maybe half an hour or so, but there were some pretty high wins and heavy rain for a bit.

Here's the info on the Hawk Classic delay:

This information would have been very valuable BEFORE I drove over an hour to an empty Prairie Central HS in Fairbury. Route 24 is nice and all...but man did that suck!

        • Eureka High School won Monday night 79-48 over Gardner-South Wilmington High School. They now move to the championship game of the Hawk Classic against Dwight HS. Eureka record moves to 5-4. Jordan Prosser had 11 points and 10 rebounds. He was triple-teamed all game, but Eureka's guards hit their open shots.

          • Sounds like this tournament lacks competition...

It certainly isn't up to par with the State Farm Classic, Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament, or the Carbondale Tournament even...

            • It's intended for small schools.

              • The Eureka Hornets won the championship of the Hawk Classic for the second year in a row.
Also, Jordan Prosser was named MVP of the tournament for the second straight year. They beat Lexington 63-53 for the title, with Prosser scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Eureka's record is now 6-4.

It is about a high school game last night between Dwight & St. Anne.

Tons of fouls, "questionable calls", seven technicals, coach ejected, and one team
shot 40 free throws while the other shot only four!
One player on Dwight scored 24 points in the game on one single made field goal!
(He hit 21 OF 24 FTs as he shot all the technicals.)

Reading some of the posts at the end of the column this must have been some display by officials, players and coaches.
I wonder when they play again....it could be very entertaining

I wonder if we might get one of those refs at a game somewhere down the road at our kids' school? I recall we did play a Sectional right up there in Mendota one year didn't we, lefty? In fact, that was the game we got a "T" for 6 players on the court!!
Hopefully we wouldn't get one of those refs. Seems like they really lost control. Sounds like they were not very experienced at all.
It was in Mendota for the sectional although it seemed like the refs were ok...of course we won so no harm done.

The place that was the worst was Hartsburg-Emden. That's why we don't play them anymore. You just tried to get out alive.

Hey T not surprising a"T" for six on the court. Least they were doing their job. Just reading the comments about that game makes me sick. To think people act and place blame like that on players ,coaches and officials when we have much worse problems in this country, LIKE our YOUNG MEN losing their lives so those *****s can act like that. Those two schools are whats wrong with High School sports today and it will probably get worse for it gets better.

                          • 27.....the # of points JP needs to become Eureka's all time scoring leader!

Right now JP is siting on 1,322 trailing only Chris Martin (1,348 ) who is playing professionally in Europe!

PS...maybe he can get them in one game!
