Class of 2013 juco- Chris Blake commits

we are NOT expecting a LOI from Shaw - he can't sign one he's not a recruit - he's a transfer..

even mentioning Shaw in the context of expecting something Wednesday morning hints that he's confused and maybe means Swopshire...

That a few times in the last week or so that there has been confusion in articles about Bradley basketball isn't it?

Is there any reason that in Dave's article about Blake giving us a verbal he mentions getting Shaw's LOI but does not mention Swopshire? I am sure its an overlook but wanted to make sure I had not missed something.

First- here is Dave's article about Chris Blake committing-

And, I do not know why Dave doesn't mention Swopshire, who is also eligible to sign a National Letter of Intent Wednesday.

And although Dave's article suggests that Mike Shaw will give an official commitment on Wednesday, that can't be referring to a NLI. Mike Shaw, as a transfer from a 4-year school to another 4-year school is not allowed to sign another NLI. It only applies to eligible high school seniors, and junior college players. He will sign official NCAA scholarship papers when he transfers, but transfers like this are not covered under the National Letter of Intent.

You gotta quite being so hard on DR. He doesn't usually make mistakes and now he has twice in one week. Maybe he needs to hit the golf course.LOL

Looks like DR fixed this, though the article still says Blake averaged 8 points and 6 points per game. DR is a great reporter ... might need a week in the tropics though.

Don't think DR can fix his 8 and 6 numbers but if Geno thinks that much of him who are we to be negative until he gives us a reason like some of past rides. I'll leave it at that.

Not worried about Chris and the #'s.......remember the meltdown when we signed Will Franklin?
Will ended up being one of my favorite Braves and just about doubled his #'s from Juco!

Some things about Chris Blake

-he was originally in the high school Class of 2009 - four years ago!! - so the kid is already 22 years old and out of high school as long as most college graduates are.

he was a very good student & full qualifier.

-so he went to a year of prep school in 2009-2010, at a place called the US Air Force Academy Prep School! - LINK
Basically an extra, 5th year of high school.

-He enrolled at Air Force on D-I scholarship in 2010 - and spent 2010-2011 there but redshirted...

...so he no longer has a redshirt year available to him - something that robbed Taylor Brown of his full four seasons at Bradley.

I'm way more concerned that Geno get the players HE wants than that he get players OTHER COACHES want. If Geno wanted this guy badly, then way to go.
