  • Class of 2013 juco- Chris Blake commits

Reportedly, Bradley is recruiting junior college power forward Chris Blake of Lee College in Baytown, Texas. He is originally from San Antonio, Texas (Clark HS) and attended Air Force Academy Prep for a year then enrolled at the Air Force Academy. He did not play his freshman year (apparently redshirted) and then left after that season and eventually landed at Lee College where he is now academically a sophomore.
Chris Blake is a 6'6", 215 pound power forward who is currently averaging around 10 ppg and around 7 rpg -

Welcome to Bradley Chris! If he is as hard a worker as I hear, he'll get a lot of playing time-

Bradley basketball gets verbal commitment from 6-6 Chris Blake of Lee College.

Hard workers are always a good thing, welcome to him. Could he be our starting 5 or is he too short?

What is a good comparison for this guy? Matt Salley? Zach Andrews? Pickett?

I think it will be between him and JP. He might be a little similar to a Matt Salley in style of play (close to the basket, undersized, aggressive rebounder). Needs to get stronger.

We saw that Carl Hall was shorter than 6-6/6-7 Reggie Miller in a post game interview. So a real 6-6 is not too short in the MVC.

If one compares him to Pickett as far as working hard then having 2, 6'6" front line guys banging the boards really makes me salivate. Lets start the season!

When was the last time Bradley had a recruiting class that all but probably one will be immediate impacts and help contribute? I think Bradley is going the right direction even though some might not like that.

While I agree with this, at the same time we have to rely on a lot of new guys because 8 guys on our team will be new and 3 more only have one year of playing experience at Bradley.

But I do agree that the recruits seem to be good and I am positive about the direction of the program. Now it is time to start seeing results. We have to develop those players and win games also.

Is there any reason that in Dave's article about Blake giving us a verbal he mentions getting Shaw's LOI but does not mention Swopshire? I am sure its an overlook but wanted to make sure I had not missed something.

we are NOT expecting a LOI from Shaw - he can't sign one he's not a recruit - he's a transfer..

even mentioning Shaw in the context of expecting something Wednesday morning hints that he's confused and maybe means Swopshire...
