Shaw did not come to Bradley from Chicago - he was recruited from Chicago to U of I & is now transferring from Champaign

Ka'Darryl Bell is from Oak Park-River Forest and not from Chicago - not part of the Chicago Public school system

people will always talk -but it'll be a while before we can tell if this is a key part of Bradley's future success....I hope so..

and thanks Da Coach for always keeping the BU fan base informed - as always you scooped the entire rest of the news sources by hours on what you knew...

Gerry I sure hope so . Hope this is just the start of something really big ,us getting Public league kids. Not really sure why or what it matters who had the scoop first but I guess it does to some people. I really don't care who had it first I'm just glad BU "got him first".Saw him up close at the state Tourney and really think he can be special before he leaves BU. I have said all along to have faith in Geno. Most have bought in and the rest I assume will jump back on when we get this thing rolling in the direction Geno has us going. Having him and Shaw together for two years is going to make our inside game so much better than we've had for years. Can't wait for practice to begin. Does anyone know if we're done or still may be recruiting for this fall?

This is the best news for Bradley basketball I have heard for some time. It helps make me more hopeful for next season and the future.

This is very good news. Can we say the fallout is over?

Yeah, right. Maybe this and a few more wins against anyone but 300+ RPI teams, and a couple fewer 30-point blowouts. Besides, I thought the fallout already ended when we signed Mike Tucker?

I think he will play more right away than some think. TP and Pross get the start, but this young man should see some minutes. The signing of this guy will very likely be the funeral for NW.

As several have said, it is good to see Chicago players considering Bradley and some select Bradley. Hopefully Ford and Coleman can keep the interest in Bradley alive in Chicago.

Got the chance to watch him play in Peoria. I think he is raw and a little clumsy. I think he will develop into a very nice player for Bradley. A redshirt year would help him tremendously. He could put on strength and work on his coordination. Good to see Bradley get back into Chicago.

If he can defend, block a few shots and rebound he will get minutes starting next year. As his offensive skills develope he will gain more minutes. I see nothing but positives from this for BU going forward.

we've had some pretty "raw" athletes here before and some have panned out great (Zach Andrews, Jerome Robinson, Chris Roberts", POB..)
Others maybe not so - but I am hopeful he can work hard & be a great player...

To your point, I think that Nate Wells' role just became much larger. Nate may never be a great player, but he could be a good mentor for X when it comes to helping with the Xs and Os (no pun intended). and some of the mental aspects of the game. It won't hurt to have a 7'1" body leaning on you in practice every day either.

p.s. this isn't the first raw 6'9" guy nicknamed X that we've had on the hilltop!
