  • Indiana is now one of the main players and is recruiting Cunningham hard -
a premium feature on the Indiana Rivals site has a story about this...
it says that Indiana's only real competition is Iowa State (they don't think either Bradley or anyone else is a serious threat to land Cunningham).

They also say Josh Cunningham is waiting to see if either Iowa State or IU continues to pursue or sign any other player who might present a challenge for Josh's playing time - and they specifically mention Marvin Clark...

Actually, Bradley has also been linked with Marvin Clark - but Clark is now blowing up and getting big time interest & offers

but ...both Indiana & Iowa State are also pursuing Marvin Clark and have offered.....
    - and Marvin Clark is actually headed to Bloomington, IN right now for a visit to Indiana this weekend and will be at their game against Ohio State.

Rumor is that if Clark chooses IU - then Cunningham won't and will not even make a visit there as he had planned.
Cunningham actually was supposed to visit Indiana a couple weeks ago but a harsh stretch of weather caused a cancellation and he's not yet rescheduled.

Seems there's two polar opposite approaches to recruiting -
one approach is like this where the recruit waits out 'til he gets the best offer - not really that concerned where it's coming from - just that it's the best by various criteria..
-the other approach would be to take the offer from your favorite school - stay loyal or instate or whatever but at least then you'll be playing for the school you want to be playing for.

      • And really the best approach would be to go to the school with the best chance for you to thrive and develop. Such as a school that you could get the most PT and potentially be a star.

I would say this is not the most common logic used by higher level recruits. More often they go to the highest level school that offers, either because their AAU or high school coach want a bragging point or because the recruit himself wants the accolades.

          • Josh Cunningham talks about his visit to Indiana

He still lists his offer from Bradley quite prominently but says he has high hopes of playing in the Big Ten

...also on the DePaul site are rumors of Myke Henry maybe not wanting to play for DePaul if they clean house...hmmm...

            • Unfortunately, Myke Henry has just sat out an entire year after his transfer. He's pretty locked into staying at Depaul even if they change coaches.

Yeah, maybe this means those big offers really haven't materialized.

                            • At one time Bradley's name was linked with those recruiting Orr's Marlon Jones. He is a 6'9" big bodied kid with skills. I am not sure why Bradley is no longer listed, and a lot of other big name schools who were once recruiting him seem to have dropped off. Now the only names appear to be St. Johns, Tulane, and Loyola. I would like to see another big kid recruited, especially one who can score like Jones. He had games of 30 points or more despite playing on a team with multiple other Division I players (Tyquon Greer & Lou Adams)
