Larkin forward Christian Negron has been cementing official college visits, and one is a surprise.....Oregon State being one of three visits he plans.
Negron, a 6-foot-6 senior, also has scheduled official visits to DePaul and Alabama-Birmingham. DePaul and UAB offered scholarships early in the recruiting process.
Negron also is considering a visit to Bradley. Early in the process, Bradley offered Negron a scholarship but changed head coaches from Geno Ford to Brian Wardle last season.
"The interest was still there with the new staff this summer," Negron said.
Iowa and Illinois made initial offers, but are currently not in the mix.
"Iowa wanted me to wait until spring, and I'd like to make a decision in fall," Negron said.

Terrible news for one of Bradley's top recruits. Christian Negron had narrowed his choices to 5 schools, including Bradley. He had gained weight and gotten stronger, and was looking forward to a great senior season at Elgin Larkin HS.
But today, it was reported that he has torn his ACL, and will miss his entire senior season. Tough luck for Christian.

Sun Times article about Christian Negron's injury just posted
Surgical repair of an ACL tear these days almost always results in an excellent outcome. But it can take from 6 to 12 months. I would love to see Bradley stay on Negron, honor their offer and have him come to Bradley and redshirt next season if he is still not 100% ready by then to start the 2017-18 season.
