Nick Norton's Bloomington Central catholic team is playing for the 2A State Championship tomorrow
Peoria Notre Dame won their Sectional Championship to advance to the 3A Elite Eight - a couple private schools (three more lost in the Sweet 16)
that will meet next week guaranteeing one in the Final Four...hmmm...
The other great natch will be Bogan vs. Morgan Park
Other 3A Elite Eight teams are North Chicago, Chicago Bogan, Chicago Orr, Chicago Morgan Park, Lincoln, Rockford Lutheran, Cahokia
4A members of the Elite Eight - Lisle Benet (Sean O'Mara's team), Glenbard North (home of ex-Brave Roger Suchy), Chicago Whitney Young, Edwardsville (return trip - they were there last year), Rockford Auburn (Fred Van Vleet's school), Chicago Heights Marian, Lincolnshire Stevenson (Jalen Brunson), Wilmette Loyola (wow - four of the eight are private or "unboundaried" schools & two more lost in the Sweet 16. someone will claim that's way too many and have to change more rules!!)
BTW - in Morgan Park's win
Josh Cunningham 17 pts/14 rebs, Lamont Walker 15 pts, Charlie Moore 14 pts/8 assts

Nick Norton had 25 points to help lead his team, Bloomington Central Catholic, to the 2A state championship. BCC beat a good Nashville team in 3 overtimes, 76-62.
box score- should be updated soon-

I think nick has a tremendous offensive game. I just don't think he translates defensively. Cannot guard a valley 1 or 2 (lack of size and quickness). This is just my opinion. I do feel he is D1 just not at the valley level.
I don't care what anyone says: 1a-2a just isn't 3a-4a.
I still feel Max Cook of Lincoln is the best available PG in Central Illinois. 6'2 Strong, High IQ, Makes Shots, Rebounds, and a flat out winner. Don't know if he is Bradley's level but I will tell you he does has size strength and game to compete in all facets of the Valley!
Shawn Roundtree of Edwardsville is also a good PG!

I seem to be in the minority, but I agree with midstateknowitall. After watching Norton up close this past weekend, he is very small (no more than 5'10") and quite thin. His body type is just not the kind of body we ever see playing in the MVC because of the physicality of D1 midmajors and higher. I believe he would have a hard time adjusting to the size and speed of other guards. If he committed to Bradley, he'd probably benefit from a redshirt year.
