  • 2014 Central Catholic Nick Norton

    CIHoops.com ‏@CIHoops 42m
Bradley, Butler, Illinois State, and Iowa among the schools picking up the heat on their recruitment of 2014 PG Nick Norton @NickyNort22.

His dad was an assistant at ISU on the women's staff before they left for Missouri. Last year his dad took the head job at UAB so Nick returned to Central Catholic for his senior season. He originally committed to Creighton.

Here is highlights from junior year. He tore his ACL which slowed his recruitment a bit.

Much better than Sammy at that age. IQ is much higher. He's not as big but is a much better shooter and decision maker, no disrespect to Maniscalco.

These are all the attributes that I recall were said about another ex-Creighton (and also ex-Illinois/ex-Kansas State/Northern Illinois) recruit- Michael Orris of Crete-Monee HS. I hope Norton chooses his college wisely and has a better career than Orris has had so far.

Bradley Head Coach Geno Ford was in Bloomington today to check out Bloomington Central Catholic's Nick Norton.
It's is being reported by CIHoops.com that Bradley will be offering a scholarship soon.

Had he been there Thursday (and maybe he was - I don't know) - he'd have seen Nick Norton score 22 against Cissna Park
..but yesterday Norton was not scoring so well - and ended with 14 vs. Fieldcrest

well - we have his sister saying so - LINK, as well as Nick himself - LINK

but this adds to the intrigue - as Macari Brooks would have taken the last of our apparently (known) open scholarships

Nick Norton is a stud! Here is the highlight from intercity. I watched him go for 17pts 12 asts while keita bates diop (ohio state committ) guarded him the entire game. Bradley may have an in on him with his brother living in Bloomington, I know they are very close and would expect him to stay close. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIGwAyqe-rI

Nick Norton turned his ankle rather severely in Saturday night's win over Elgin St. Edward - and did not return to the game.
It is not known how serious it is but the Pantagraph did note "they may be without standout point guard Nick Norton for a while."

His injury occurred right at the end of the 3rd quarter when Central Catholic was leading 61-36. They went on to win 84-48.
