  • BU recruit- 2012 Juco- Deng Deng

Dave Reynolds is reporting that Bradley is recruiting a talented forward, Deng Deng, a sophomore at Lee College in Baytown, Texas. Lee College is where Bradley recruited Chris Blake from.
Deng Deng spent the 2011-2012 year at Lee, and did not play basketball. His first year of competition was 2012-2013 in which he averaged 9.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg. He was on track to graduate after last year, and committed to LSU in September, 2012, but changed his mind and decided to return this fall for his second year of playing at Lee. He is originally from the Sudan (the same country Shayok Shayok's parents were from). His family fled Sudan to Egypt when he was young, and eventually settled in Melbourne, Australia. He became an Australian citizen 7 years ago.

He reportedly already has offers from Arizona St., Oklahoma St, Nebraska, Washington St. and Utah, and getting a lot of interest from other BCS schools.

      article on Deng Deng

      some of what it says...

      "Deng Deng

A 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward at Lee (Texas) College, Deng was born in
Sudan ......a snag in his transcripts prevented him from enrolling at LSU, so
he was forced to take the junior college route at Lee.

During his freshman season at Lee last year, Deng averaged 10 points and 7.5
rebounds per game to help lead the Rebels to their first-ever berth in the
National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Tournament this past
spring. He was the tallest player on Lee's roster last year, but Deng said he
fits best at the wing position because of his versatility on both ends of the
      floor.

"Basically I'm a big, long player who can dribble and shoot and run," Deng
said. "I can do it all. I don't really care what position I'm at. I just go and
      play."

Deng holds other offers from Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Washington
State and Utah, and is receiving interest from Seton Hall, Miami (Fla.), Texas
      A&M and Alabama."
