Not that former recruit DeShawn Delaney would have been any happier had he chosen Bradley - but things haven't turned out as well as he'd probably expected at New Mexicio

The Lobos have suddenly hit the skids...they have lost seven in a row and are 0-7 in the month of February - dropping to 6-10 in a weakened Mountain West - well out of the running -
Lineup changes are coming but looks like they won't be playing in the post-season this year
DeShawn will be at the Final Four however - he's been picked to compete in the Dunk Contest

DeShawn Delaney's college career came to a sad ending...
Just as they were headed into the Mountain West Tourney (which New Mexico has won the past three years), DeShawn broke a bone in his hand, and without him the New Mexico Lobos lost to AirForce - so their season is over...
Some rumbles have their head coach Craig Neal in trouble enough that he might get fired after a sudden downturn year - 15-16, 7-11 in MWC
..but he just got a big raise & extension last fall...

here's an odd twist to the story...

Delaney wanted to score one more basket on Senior Night vs. Wyoming, so they made a secret deal with opposing coach Larry Shyatt of Wyoming and the plan was to tip the ball and toss right to Delaney so he could score a gimme layup, then remove him from the game and then UNM would allow an unopposed basket on the other end as a rigged start to the game.

But the refs overheard the plan and put a stop to it and said they would not allow such a travesty of the game - so as soon as the ball was tipped, UNM called time out and removed Delaney who at least got to play on Senior Night.
btw- New Mexico won the game 52-49 in OT...
