  • BU recruit- class of 2013- Carter Evans

One of the 2013 recruits Bradley is hoping to get a commitment from in the early recruiting period is 6'10" center Carter Evans of Rochester Century High School, in Rochester, Minnesota. He also plays for the Minnesota Fury AAU team based in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Bradley offered him a scholarship yesterday (8/19/12), becoming only the second D1 school to offer him. His only other D1 offer was from San Jose State. But I hear he received another D1 offer late yesterday from New Hampshire. He also has interest from Loyola, Colgate, and Boston U.
He has been under the radar, but played well in July at several AAU events.

YouTube video- Carter Evans is #54 in the white or blue uniforms-

Bradley's competition is San Jose State. Carter will visit SJSU 2 weeks after his Bradley visit.

I take it that he is a project and most likely is being told he'll have to RS. SJSU is not a Juggernaut of high quality basketball. There are 5-6 programs within 50 miles of its campus that are much better. If we really want him and lose him to SJSU I'll be shocked.

I don't think project is the right description, but rather a late-bloomer. He is a kid with good skills and starting to get interest from higher schools.

I hope he likes Bradley - right now almost all the fall official and unofficial visits are centered around taking in FB games - and that's a disadvantage for us......
BTW - here's some new video of Ben Moore
Ben Moore is a Illinois native that suits up for the D-Rose All Stars on the AAU circuit. Moore is a 6'8 long, active and bouncy prospect. For more on this p...

Why doesn't BU MBB get POB to talk to Carter Evans about the benefits of playing at BU?

well - for one reason - it's an NCAA violation...

if POB & Evans were friends or bumped into each other casually and had a conversation then I suspect NCAA couldn't do a thing about it..
BUT since POB would naturally be seen as a person who might represent the interests of BU then it would be impermissible contact for him to talk with Evans in any way that would be seen as recruiting - same as if I posted on the kid's Facebook - "Hey, come to BU!"

The top recruiting guru on Minnesota prep basketball just said this about Carter Evans......

"Sounds like he really liked the visit and Bradley is in a great spot with him"
