  • 2013 recruit- Ben Moore

The Braves have offered Ben Moore of Bolingbrook. He's a 6-7 forward. He has offers from detroit, loyola uipui. something called minnesota state, edwardsville and cal-irvine.

This is from City/Suburban Hoops Report a couple of days ago:
"Ben Moore is going to be good. And at the right level, Moore has a chance to be really good down the road. It's not as if the Bolingbrook prospect isn't a productive talent right now, but the 6-7 senior gets the all-too-often-mentioned "best basketball is ahead of him" tag. It's the truth. Moore, who made nearly as much progress from November to July as any player in the Class of 2013, is just beginning to figure it out. He's long, bouncy, active and, just as he should be, is a coveted mid-major prospect. He's an ideal Horizon League-like 4-man right now, with a weekend in Las Vegas with the D Rose All-Stars to try and show schools in the Missouri Valley and Atlantic 10 that he can play at that mid-major plus level."

BTW -- we just had a kid from Bolingbrook - and that unfortunately did not turn out well so it may have actually impaired our chances.

but here's how Ben Moore lined up his opinion on his offers just two days ago in an interview...

"Class of 2013 power forward Ben Moore of Bolingbrook High School ...
..continues to see his recruiting stock rise.
In a short period of time Moore has racked up four more offers to his collection.

First was Illinois State who has been looking at him for a while.

“I like their all-around coaching staff and their style of play.”

Then he received one from SMU and new head coach Larry Brown.

“It meant a lot. It was great getting an offer from such a legendary coach.”

The next school to step up to the table was Colorado State.

“They called me on the phone and offered me. Then they talked about
building a relationship and getting there on an official visit.”

The final offer that came Monday night was from Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

“They called me and offered. ...

His offers in addition to these four include SIU-Edwardsville, Detroit, Loyola,
UC-Irvine, Toledo, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, and IPFW. He is also
receiving serious interest from Iowa, Creighton, St. Louis, and Hawaii
according to his high school coach Robert Brost."

so Bradley is the 13th to offer, and he names 17 schools as of Tuesday and now would add Bradley to that list.

I have heard the Braves are really pushing hard for Moore.
He just picked up an offer from Northwestern last night.

Good find LTF. It looks like our odds of getting Moore get slimmer by the day.

My edit: I've been told we are still in the mix but that it will be extremely difficult to get him given our competition.

Ben Moore is as hot as you can get right now...
Still looking for post players in their class of 2013, Wisconsin contacted Bolingbrook (Ill.) Forward Ben Moore yesterday and the Badgers may make a late push.

Hoping he understands how he could play many minutes at BU and could get lost in the shuffle at one of the bigger schools which happens to so many players these days which is why you see so many more transfers now then you did 10 years ago, BCS schools promise a lot and then recruit over you as fast as they can so if you do not want to sit out a transfer season because they found someone better do not overvalue yourself, Indiana showed M.Roth the door after he was considered no longer valuable to their program.

The reported offer from Minnesota is now confirmed as premature in this tweet.

I'm not sure how many can see it. It's now saying that Minnesota is showing strong interest.

Ben Moore had a scheduled official visit to SMU to see Jerrance Howard - and was planning to go Oct. 18...
but Moore reportedly now has almost everything he needs to decide and wants to finish up - so he's moved the SMU visit up and is headed there right now to visit this weekend.
