  • BU recruit- 2013- Karrington Ward

Unbelievable...Never lost faith in Geno and really excited now...today they are bringing on campus a first team D1 juco all american from Kankakee Karrington Ward. He holds offers from Wichita St, Marquette, Florida St, Baylor and Seton Hall. He is exactly the wing Bradley needs..if they can get him and Stainbrook look out. Year 3 will be very exciting..Bradley has an inside with him with a Peoria guy who is a friend of the program which is how they got him on campus.Bradley will be only mid major he will visit..this is unofficial so you know they have a shot here....would love to be on campus today to see that open gym..really think if they can free up one more scholly then that would be perfect...i just dont understand how you can be a competitor and sit the bench a whole year and be willing to do that again for your senior year..i guess some people are wired different...Lets keep our fingers crossed here and hope all goes well...

Woa... Hold on there cowboy.. We have had a lot of quality players visit campus in the past. What remains to be seen is if Geno and staff can close the deal. Here's hoping they can.

On another note, you would throw someone out on the street who has been here for three years and by all accounts has done everything correctly from an academic standpoint? I would be severely upset if BU did that even though he has not played that often during the past three years.
    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Karrington Ward was a great player at Lockport High School and graduated in 2011. He went to Kankakee Community College and had a great freshman season- 19.6 ppg, 9.1 rpg, and 37% from three.

It appears that at one time Jim Les was recruiting him out of high school.-

He is one of ten 1st team juco Div 1 All Americans-

He supposedly has a 48" vertical jump and a 78" wingspan-

          Ward is a beast.

Karrington Ward was the best player in the gym today at Bradley. Transfer Anthony Fields from Wake Forest is quick as a hiccup and has a second and third gear...Look for good news on the hilltop before next friday...keep your fingers crossed..

Geno has landed juco All Americans before - he just got one last year at Kent State, Chris Evans...

and we've had juco All Americans on campus before but it is hard to land them once they get the press that goes with the National (NJCAA) Tourney and A-A status...
Nick Wiggins (verballed to Wichita), Fabyon Harris, Jeff Early (went to SIU), Paris Gulley all had BU on their list and other juco All American kids like Corbin Thomas, Nafis Ricks, Carl Hall, Tyler Brown, Jarmar Gulley, Cleanthony Early ... all picked other Valley schools.....

Bringing them to campus is one key step - be we know what the other key step is -- we need to sell them on BU - we need the dynamic sales pitch!
Mrcoachdude knows well in the car business - just getting them on your lot is step one and you can know all there is to know about cars but if you have to seal the deal with a GOOD sales pitch.

Well the latest word is that he has another year left at JUCO. It could make it harder to land him. On the other hand I think we have 4 scholarships next year and He would be an unbelievable start.

it isn't really bad at all that we're bringing in 2013 kids -- in fact - now's the time to get on their speed dial list...
I would love to see a whole lot more of the future years' kids - get Jabari, Peyton, Nate, and Tanner back a few more times....

Geno is creating a buzz among these high schoolers... Good for him! I like what he is doing so far and can't wait to see what he's built in 2 or 3 years. Go Braves!

Karrington Ward is leaving Kankakee Community College after his one season there. His coach was fired, and he asked for and was granted his release.
He is probably headed to Indian Hills CC in Ottumwa, Iowa for his sophomore season.
