BU recruit- 2012 juco Tymell Murphy

Bradley is recruiting Tymell "Ty" Murphy, a 6'5" forward from South Plains College of Levelland, Texas. South Plains recently won the 2012 Championship of the NJCAA in Hutchinson, Kansas. Murphy averaged 10 ppg and 6.6 rpg, and shot 57% overall and 43% from three.
He is originally from Brooklyn New York. He spent his first season at Mohawk Valley CC, where he averaged 16.6 ppg and 11.2 rpg.

Tymell will be visiting Bradley this Friday (4/6/12) along with another potential transfer who will be visiting, too.

Tymell Murphy is on campus and visiting and will scrimmage a bit -

but as soon as he's done here -- Tymell will head to visit Rutgers on a paid, official visit...
He is originally from New York.

This may make him more interested in BU but are we still after him...the comments I saw on the Rutgers site are interesting...

I would say that BU will take the first recruit to commit that we have offered for the last scholarship so any of those that are out there that have not decided better sh-t or get off the pot because time is wasting and we only have 1 spot open.

My personal preferance is-

If there is a 15-20 percent chance of getting Mislav Brzoja in case he does not get in to Northwestern or Milton Doyle. I would hold off and wait. There is always a good chance we come up empty and have an unused scholarship until the next year. But then we could look at transfers or have room for another player next year. I am looking to build for 2013 or 2014.

Sorry, but this video did not do much for me. Maybe Geno and the gang saw something. His shooting form is hard to watch - beside that, just a lot of street ball moves vs. lackluster competition. Maybe there's more recent video?

I will say that if we got Tymell, he would add to an already super-athletic, quick backcourt with WL & AF.

Nope- Tymell Murphy is going to go to Florida International University and new coach Richard Pitino. They have several open scholarships with the players who backed out (e.g. Milton Doyle).

Wow! He fooled me. I'm betting the Pitino name will carry the necessary clout to put that program on the map. The kid's old man raves about him (of course you wouldn't expect anything different).
