It is officiallly reported that Bradley is among a number of schools recruiting 6'5" guard Darius Austin of Cahokia HS. He is a sophomore (class of 2014) and he reports that he has interest from Illinois, Purdue, DePaul, Butler, Saint Louis U., SIU-E, UIC, Tennessee, Ohio State, Michigan, Xavier, Bradley, Oklahoma, Marquette, and Missouri.

Darius Austin has emerged as a major D1 athlete with tremendous skills.

A friend of mine said BU was at Cahokia yesterday to watch Austin practice.
This guy has seen Austin play a few times with the Jets AAU team.
Right now he looks to be a 3 in college.. but could still grow into a 4.
He says Austin is not as good as Malcolm Hill.. but really good and probably a BCS player.

A little more info..
The Jets team has Hill, Austin and another 2014 stud named Darreon Reddick (also 2014). This team could give Mullins team a run for the money.
A source close to the Jets just emailed.. Austin is taking trips every weekend this month.. to Xavier this weekend.. Ohio State, MO St and Depaul. He's already been to Mizzou & Illinois. He would like to play with Hill.. and they expect Illinois to get much more involved during the year. He didn't know anything about BU getting involved and had not heard about a visit.

He did not think the Braves were involved with Hill.. and have not called Reddick. This guy thinks Austin will go higher than the valley.

Darius Austin is very good 6'6 with good athleticism and can handle the ball. Shot still needs more consistancy but he is a good slasher. I would assume that he will be a High Major Kid, however you never know how things will end up. He has offers from Missouri and SIU-E right now.

Darreon Riddick I feel would be a great pwoer guard in the valley 6'3 maybe 6'4 with a thick wide strong body. Good ball skills with a developing mid range jumper.

Played their team 3 times this year. We went 1-2 vs them. With all games were with in 3 pts decided on last second shots! SW JETS have a Good team, Im not sure if they played the IL Wolves this year or not at 15U level.

We beat the Wolves 15U and Jets beat us twice! Mullins does a great job with his program. But I can promise you there are programs in Central Illinois that have talented players that get no where near the love. If certain players were upstate and had those media outlets talking about them all the time it would help their cause a ton!

However, No matter where a player from Central Illinois plays: Im just happy to see them get some love and succeed!

Darius Austin's 2011-2012 season might be delayed a little bit. He suffered a fractured finger in practice, and will miss about 3-4 weeks. His team's first game is November 21, so he hopes to return in time to play.

Darius Austin of Cahokia, IL HS (2014) is playing AAU ball with the SW Jets out of Belleville, Illinois. He looked good to our coaches in an AAU event this past weekend in Merrillville, Indiana. Expect an on-campus visit soon.
