Makes sense. So, the offer would have likely been immediately pulled once the other kid accepted? Butler (the OTHER BU) would be a good fit.

I have heard ISU is "all in with everything they have" on Peters.
They feel like he is the key player to their class.
Peters visited Boston College this past weekend.

He would be a great get for ISU but I hope he goes anywhere but there. ANYWHERE

Alec Peters just finished a visit to ISU - and thus far - I am surprised - there's extremely little said anywhere...nobody commenting on seeing him or watching him scrimmage...
He definitely did not commit, and only a few tweets hint that he had a good visit...just a generic sounding thinks..

Meanwhile some bigger guys are getting involved - Cuonzo Martin & Tennessee coming in for a visit...

              Alec also had some stitches

                a couple comments are intriguing...
"we met with Coach Muller and we talked for a while about my game and everything. I got to play with their guys both days.."
                and
"The coaches are always around for you"

"always"?? ..if always means what it is described in the dictionary.....then if the coaches were around when they scrimmaged....isn't that a violation??

                  He's cancelling his Valpo visit.
                  Boston College in visiting today.
Illinois State has been unable to close the deal so far, even though the family wants him to play close to home.

He rescheduled his visit to Valpo from last weekend to this weekend.

He has visited BC & ISU officially. This weekend will be his official to Valpo.

All 3 are in very good standing with him. They are doing a very good job of handling his recruitment and seeing where and how he would fit in best.

Has very good support system with his family & Coach Brown at Washington HS.

                    • midstate - I had read that when Butler dismissed Chrishawn Hopkins (one of their best & highest scoring returning players) - they suddenly had an open ride for the next two seasons and were making a bigger push for Alec Peters...
                      That true??

                      • Will be interesting to see if or how they really go after Alec. Still has 2 open officials left. Haven't heard much either way. Do know Butler offered Alvin Ellis from Chicago De La Salle yesterday.

                        • Alec Peters just received an offer from Tennessee, courtesy of Head Coach Cuonzo Martin. This doesn't surprise me, as I always thought he'd get BCS offers if he waited long enough.

                          • at first it appeared Alec Peters might in line for some playing time right away at VALPARAISO - and I hope that's still the case...because since Alec Peters signed with Valpo - Valpo has loaded up on transfer kids some of whom are eligible this year...

They landed Moussa Gueye - a transfer from Alabama, and of course they landed Keith Carter, a highly touted but yet to be accomplished guard from Saint Louis..
They also have ex-Indiana Hooiser Bobby Capobianco who is pretty much the same player as Peters, and David Chadwick - transfer from Rice who is now eligible.
They also have a kid who played at Hawaii, Alex Rossi who just transferred from Cal, Lavonte Dority - who played at South Florida then transferred to Valpo, and just lost to graduation an Ole Miss transfer & a Virginia Tech transfer..
That's a LOT of transfers all at one time! Chadwick, Rossi, & Capobianco play a similar position to Peters & will compete for floor time.

                            • found this Alec Peters mention at Valpo

surprising how many D-I transfers Valparaiso has built upon, that will be battling for playing time..
Bobby Capobianco (Indiana), Lavonte Dority (USF), Moussa Gueye (Alabama), Keith Carter (SLU), Jordan Coleman (Hawaii), David Chadwick (Rice), Vic Nickerson (Charlotte

                              • That's an odd blog. Not sure why someone would blog just to focus on size rather than skill or expectations, but I'm sure Alec Peters will play a different role than a traditional player his size.
