Alec talks recruitment - wants to go somewhere that he can play right away - presumably as a frosh...

Clemson was into watch him yesterday

UW Greenbay, Loyola, Northern Iowa, & Northwestern will be in today.

Penn St. & Nebraska will either be in Thursday or soon after that.

Here's hoping Peters avoids the "dogs" of the B-10 (Neb. and PSU). Northern Iowa or Northwestern would be solid fits where he could thrive. BU never in the picture?

Might have been too little, too late. He listed a top 5 in the PJS on Sunday and it was led by Illinois State, followed 2 UW schools (I believe Green Bay and Milwaukee). I can't remember the rest, but Bradley was not listed.

Before Jank left, I was told that the coaching staff at ISU considered him a "lock" for 2013. Even with his departure, if I was a gambling man, I'd put money on Alec choosing ISU by the end of summer.

The only wrench for ISU is that Peters has grown to 6'8 and with a good summer, will start hearing from the low-high majors. His performance at Richwoods impressed a lot of the right people (comparisons to Ben Simons, a player who definitely could succeed at a higher level). I know Iowa scouted Peters but didn't pursue because of Uthoff's commitment, and I bet you'll see Illinois get involved at some point.

I have him crossed off as a possibility. We didn't offer early. Now he has blown up. And other teams at our level have been recruiting him longer than us.

I just don't get how bigger D-1s weren't on him during last season. Pretty obvious to me. He's considerably better that Uthoff.

college recruiters have their own set of criteria and thus kids who look great to everyone else - don't always get BCS attention and likewise kids who don't seem as good sometimes get far more attention..
Sure they miss on rare occasions but for every kid who was really way better than the offers he received, there's 50 kids who were not as good and ended up aiming too high and never gets playing time...

I just don't get this one with us not recruiting Alex. I will admit I have no idea if we are in on players much better then Alex but this just doesn't seem like good things are going to happen if he goes to ISU. Somebodys evaluation of him is wrong hope its not us.

Understood, but any set of criteria should include size (check), strength (check), motor (check), very high Bball IQ (check), ability to finish (check), above average mid-range game and emerging long range game (check, check).

I see not a lot of risk with possible high reward here, although granted I don't get paid to evaluate talent.

it's going to soon become easier to list the D-I's that haven't offered...
