  • Recruits on Campus today?

Anyone know of any recruits on campus today?

I dunno if it is a non contact period, but I was at Subway and 2 or 3 boys much taller than me were there with an entourage (families?) and they were talking basketball.

It is a "quiet period" which allows coaches to have face to face contact only on the phone or when the athlete is on campus. I don't know if the kids you saw were recruits, but there have been kids invited to take part in open gyms on campus quite frequently.

It is nice to have players intersted and visiting. I have to ask though is he visiting in case he loses a leg or something? He seems way out of our league. Not much chance he is a MVC player.

I had that feeling about Donovine Stewart when he was a Freshman though so who knows. I agree, great day to be on campus.

-maybe, but currently the kid has no offers, so I say get on him and be the first to offer...

-but also, I'd like to think there is some chance or would some day be a chance that we ARE in these kids' league simply because they live in our back yard

I always thought it was at its best pre-dawn, inside La Bamba.

You always have some king of chance at landing a big time player because once in awhile a player would rather be a star at a mid-major program then just an average one at a larger school, look at Heywood and Mack , they were big time stars at Butler and led them to the championship game , no one ever thought that was possible, the NIT championship team at Bradley was good enough to compete for a final 4 had they been given a berth in the NCAA tour; if you can at least get big time players to visit then you have a chance even if it is a small one, we need to think big if we expect to ever land a big time recruit, with our facilities and fan support there is no reason why we cannot put together a great team.
