It sounds as if Illinois has moved on. My guess is KSU if he wants to go major.

Larry Austin surprised many by committing to Tennessee....
we were his first offer when he was a freshman but he blew up after that...

It probably wasn't that big a surprise- a lot of recruiting gurus were expecting it to be Tennessee-

but even that site admits many thought it was K-State until just minutes before he verballed - remember - he walked into the room wearing orange clothes - so it was easy to know before he stepped to the mic

Every one of those predictions were posted hours before "he walked into the room".

Would you consider him a higher priority than Cunningham?

No, he will not be a Bradley recruit.

I have heard that the schools calling today include Xavier, Cincinnati, Providence, and Boston College.

Larry Austin had played a little for Xavier early on but he has dropped so far to the end of the bench now that his playing time is negligible...
The coach even said he has a ways to go to even expect to deserve any playing time....not good news...

Now he's averaging only 4 min per game and not even scoring a point per game...wish we'd have had him with our desperation for a point guard he could have played 40 min per game

                        Here's what's ironic....
during the recruiting process Austin said...
"the chance to be in the starting lineup right away for the 2014-15 season"
                        and
                        "playing time right away"
were factors in his college decision...

Former Springfield Lanphier HS star Larry Austin, who at one time was a Bradley recruit and visited Bradley, has been at Xavier for 2 seasons and played very little. He averaged 0.7 ppg in 4.7 minutes as a freshman and 1.9 ppg in 10.4 mpg as a sophomore.
Now he has decided to leave Xavier and transfer. I suspect he wants to go somewhere he can play, and that would likely be a mid-major.

Austin, Jr. visited Bradley very early on, and got his first offer from Bradley...
then got more offers and verballed & signed LOI to Tennessee....
but before he enrolled, he asked out of his Letter of Intent and reopened his recruitment - and chose Xavier....
Right now we're pretty well stocked on guys who can play point guard, and he'd ahve to sit out a full year as well so he'd take up 3 years of scholarships for potentially two seasons in 2017-18 & 2018-19..

My guess is that even tho he's an attractive target for a mid-major - our staff will probably pass as we need a scoring wing/SF
