  • BU recruit- juco class of 2012- Coty Clarke

Coty Clarke is a sophomore this season at Lawson State Community College (Birmingham, Alabama)- he is a 6'7" wing player, originally from Pinson Valley HS in Birmingham, Alabama. Last season as a freshman at Lawson State College he averaged 11.1 ppg and 11.3 rpg. He shot 62% from the field. He even shot 53% from three, but didn't shoot many threes (8 for 15).

He was pretty good in high school- 3rd team All State, 17.5 ppg and 11.5 rpg. There were some pretty exceptional players ahead of him on the 1st and 2nd All State teams-

But apparently he did not qualify for D1, and went to Lawson State.

He is a very aggressive rebounder, and out of the names I heard, he made perhaps the biggest impression on our coaches. He is a great kid, and has a younger brother who will also be on this year's Lawson State team.
Wichita State, Mississippi State, and Washington State are also recruiting him. This is a kid who would make an immediate impact at Bradley.

Kid was a beast in the last 4 games of the season - Very big wing and if he can rebound, (especially offensively, which we have lacked in quite a few seasons) that's a plus! Sounds like he'd be a good pick-up, and possibly replacement for TB?

Coty Clarke will be visiting Bradley in the near future. He is a great rebounder, and the kind of frontcourt player Bradley needs for next year.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Thanks for posting those. But Coty can do a lot more than dunk. He is a very good shooter, has a decent handle with the ball, and will be a very good defensive player wherever he lands in D1.

He sounds like a Theron Wilson-type, but a better shooter?

definitely better outside shooter and an 80% FT shooter more of a scoring & passing TB

Coty Clarke continues to put up monster numbers...

After eight games for Lawson State (albeit not the very toughest opponents)

                    Here are Coty's stats...
                    15.8 ppg, 12.8 rpg (3rd in nation), 67% FG accuracy, 5-9 (56%) on 3-pt,
6,4 assists per game, 1.6 blocks, 2.8 steals..
                    not a bad stat line!

Did he sign with anyone? He would be a good addition to next seasons team.

Coty has a HUGE opportunity to be an immediate impact player at BU from Day 1....but I have heard Bradley is not in the running and has moved on (and signed Pickett with the scholly that was available for Coty).

                          Is this true?
